If that's the case ..... well that's life.

As long as Team Philippines play thier best, whatever the final outcome in this tournament ...... Let us be proud of our team.

uhm, that's an "unfair" life if that's the case, they should play that match seriously, like there's no tomorrow, the team who deserves to live another day must do so, the outcome must not be fixed..

Go team Pilipinas!! mabuhay!..

**Go Lebanon beat Taipei!

49-28 Iran
end of 2nd quarter

and
1st set 25-23 for Iran against Pakistan !! :D :D

The problem is maybe the two teams, leban0n and taiwan may give each other, lebanon may let taiwan win by less than 6 points and the philippines will bow out...

I don't think Lebanon is gonna allow itself to go to group II where Iran, Korea, and Japan are there.

Group I is a bit better with China, Syria, and Kazakhstan.

my internet connection is a bit slower than yours guys, mine keeps on buffering every two seconds.. just give me an update.:D

I do agree ..... but even though it is unfair, it could happen that's what I meant. Seen it done in numerous tournaments if a certain wants to avoid a certain team or whatever. But do hope Lebanon play it's best and win. And that Team Philippines play to win against UAE also.

Wow I didn't know that. Thanks for giving us a bit of trivia in Iranian volleyball.

;)

We can't afford to lose against UAE!

We have to at least win like 90-60 to avoid our PF and PA being like this:

PF < PA

If we win like 83 - 63, then our PF is 273 and PA is 255. So 273/255 = 1.07

Our win has to be something like this or greater.

NO, read the FIBA rules again:

only goal average between tied team your result against UAE is not important

FIBA RULES:
D.1.3 If more than two teams are equal in the placing, a second classification will be established, taking into account only the results of the games between the teams that are tied.
D.1.4 If there are still teams tied after the second classification, then goal average will be used to determine the placing, taking into account only the results of the games between the teams still tied.

I REPEAT...

Whether it be POINT DIFFERENTIAL or GOAL AVERAGE that will be used, ONLY THE SCORES OR WINNING MARGINS IN THE MATCH-UPS AMONG THE 3 TEAMS INVOLVED IN THE TRIPLE-TIE---which means us, Chinese-Taipei and Lebanon, WILL BE USED IN THE COMPUTATION.

Check out the Wikipage for the 2006 FIBA-World Championship and see how they broke the triple tie between Slovenia, China and Puerto Rico in Group C.

It doesn't matter whether we win by 1 or 100 against UAE. WHAT WILL MATTER IS THAT WE WIN...PERIOD!

That is assuming Lebanon also wins or Chinese-Taipei wins by 6 points or more.

I think the tie-breaker issue has already been cleared previously. The only way the Philippines advances is if either Lebanon wins (any margin) or if Taipei wins by 6 points or more. I'm assuming of course that we beat UAE (a one point win will do in fact).

A Taipei win of a margin of 5 or less means goodbye Philippines. :(

Iran won't win

Iran won't win

China is the best for now but India will soon rise. The Philippines is on the rebound. I think Iran just got lucky streaks and they are about to end.:D :D :D :D
