Before the game,i said "if syria wins i will put my hands up and say congrats to them " but since they lost by 10 !!! this is really unfair and rediculious !
Btw Gold Digger,i was always telling you that our team were considering waba as a friendly tournament nothing more and if you take a look on the stats u will find ahmad ibrahim even not scoring 20pts !
Anyway congrats for the syrian, they dont deserve but they make it so good luck for syria, hope they can make the WC !

Btw congrats to lebanon the best player in this tournament so far Ahmad ibrahim !

Hardluck Dan

Not that we lost this game that we are not strong team maybe our coach said to players to let the score on the result that let us play in semi-final.

the funny story is that syria qualified from 1 win over malysia :p
i didnt say ur team is bad, bass my team is better and they deserve to make it ! and they prove 2day to all that the rules are unfair !

I have one question though, what does it feel like to walk side by side with your southern brothers, and entering as ONE KOREA in the opening ceremonies in the last olympics in Beijing?

again .. according to fair standards we should see China and Kazakhstan only in the semi final<> not Lebanon not Syria <>

if not the fair standards , the team that made the big game causing China to forfeit is Syria .. and thou Syria should be in replace of china >> otherwise why should Syria or Lebanon be at the Simees while both teams loosed against china and Kazakhstan " if it wasnt for the foreit" ?

i just don't believe what happened...syria only won 1 game against lowly malaysia..the lost all their games and won 1 by forfeit...this is ridiculous...i've never seen anything like this...2 be fair kaza and china should qualify if not lebanon...i have no words to explain how much i'm pissed at these rules...walla haram...i have nothing against syria but really we ended in a difficult group and we played difficult games and we won over them and in he end they are the one to qualify...anyway good luck for them in semi finals and after tha whether it's the final or 3rd or 4th place

bro,we are not talking about the fact of china and kazakhstan qualifiyin together !
we are talking about the rules, you got a 20+ from nothing ! you wouldnt dream to win china by 20 !
anyway man good luck for you !

Congrats to all four qualifying teams to the semi. I guess Japan and Iran will meet in the final, and then it's a 50-50 game.

Also Congrats to Syria making the HISTORY of qualifying without ACTUALLY winning one single game in this round.

Hopefully, the teams qualifying to the world stage will practice hard, so that they will not get embarrassed and humiliated as the representatives of Asia. At this moment, I can't see any asian team is able to face other basketball powers except China. Disagree? geez, look at the winning margins by Team China.

I believe China will play against Philippine in the next game. Boyz are fired up in the chinese team coz they know the stupid and unprofessional decision of so-called "forfeiture" was made by a Filipino referee. Good luck to team Philippine for not getting slaughtered so hard.

well, apparently, Lebanon found the leader of their next basketball generation. The kid is amazing. A higher level of league will help develop him into a star.

At last, I wanna say that I really appreciate the passion Filipino fans showing to their national team at all levels. However, from what I read here, you guys really think you are the second best basketball team in the world, just second to the USA.

What make you guys think like that?

Good luck for Lebanon too
that is exactly what I'm I taking about , rules made us qualify , what made such rules apply ? china forfeit .. why china forfeits ? because of some events in a very close game with Syria ( 5 pionts + 4 free throes for Syria not played + possession + 4 fouls against best chines player)

if it wasn't for that china would have deserved the qualification aside of the Kazakhs and these two teams deserve it if it comes to me .

now since there mast be a replacement for china , the credits goes for the team who made the game .. Syria .. forget about the 20-0 if it wasn't there .. we should have seen China >>> and if it comes to me I would placed China instead of us it deserve it .

and by the way , if you consider Lebanon's 2 looses against Syria this year in WABA as friendly tournament nothing more .. that definitely means that our loose in this tourny is "friendly game nothing more" , since we have the safe margin of 14 points " affordable " !!

i feel for Lebanon, i really do..i thought we RP guys have reasons to be pissed by the way our boys played inconsistently, but our Lebanese friends have more valid reasons to gripe and rant now that they're out despite playing all-out basketball all the way and beating 2 of the 4 semi-finalists. I guess all is not fair in love and basketball as they say.

WTF!!! so its the Philippines' fault now????? what a stupid comment that was...who cares if the ref was a filipino? or a lebanese or a syrian for that matter, it's not the our decision not to come back in the game. stop blaming somebody else for one stupid decision made by one stupid person (the chinese coach perhaps)

well, i dont know what are you talking about regarding us claiming the world's best, but majority of us filipino know our basketball, and we will all quickly agree that we still have VERY long ways to go to be among the bests of Asia, let alone the world. so pls stop the BS.

this we know, we know we are the most enthusiastic and the most passionate hoops fans ever..

Retard!!! Don't blame on us, Blame on you Coach...

If you can't accept defeat just quit Baketball....

comments after Iran-Philippines match:

Mohammad Hassanzadeh (player): we played very bad, we underrate philippines, and i am so sorry

Mohammad Jamshidi (player): we lost to our mistakes, but no problem, this match is not important

Pouria Kazemi (player): we underrated philippines and we lost to their speed.

Nebojsa Raicevic (Iran's coach): this match is not important, but we tried to win, today i must rested some players, our best player Emad Salmani is injured and i couldnt use him.

Philippines coach: amazing match , we played very well, we show our class , Iran is a very strong team , i am sure they will win the tournament.

-----------------------------------------------

anyway, I think we will win this tournament with no problem ! but i hope our players don't think like me and take all matches serious ! every team can beat every team in youth level !

till now, the home court is not an advantage for us, it is a disadvantage ! iranian players played very selfish and nervous ! our shot percentage is horrible ! but i hope in next matches we play better in a full Azadi stadium !

in world championships , if we have Arsalan we can do somethings !

concerning Syria , sometimes luck helps you ! ( i still think my previous posts are correct !) i really hope to see Iran, Syria and Kazakhstan in WC.

Philippines defeats Iran 85 - 84

This is probably the best win by our team in this tournament. Winning against the hosts is not an easy task.

Anyway, congratulations to Team Pilipinas for giving it their best.

I would say Iran would come out on top with the absence of China, South Korea, and Lebanon.

this Philippine team could have had the country's top 3 U18 players in Ryan Buenafe, Nico Salva, and Aric Bringas... but all chose club over country. can anyone from Iran, Lebanon, or Syria tell me if your U18 team had players who did the same thing?

regardless, coach Pumaren still managed to make good use of his players.

are you insane? for now, we filipino appreciate what SBP, the RP cage body, is doing right now to ressurect our stature in asia..and slowly we are doing fine..thanks for thinking that we are the second best in basketball team the world but we filipinos are a realist, we KNOW AND UNDERSTAND the long way road to be in the top 3 in ASIA..but we are getting there..do you understand? regarding the forfeiture of your team, why would you not ask your coach..they are the one who walked out..even for the an argument that they went back to the court, they still walked out and there are rules to be followed..if you can't follow simple rules, then WTF are you playing basketball for..Basketball is about playing by the rules..we Philippines learned the hard way also..during the FIBA Men's championship in Japan..we were called for a Technical foul by the referee because our coach was protesting a call..that cost us the game and the quarterfinal seat..we got angry by the call, but what can we do..its the rules..remember chinese guy, too much success often drunk the mind..congrats to the semifinalist..

Just like what USA Basketball's Jerry Colangelo has said, players should be "100% committed to playing to the national team."

A "true" national team is not a collection of the best players in the country, but rather the best collection of team players.

The players in our team deserve to be in that team because they "want" to be there and put their country above everything else.

Playing for your country is way bigger than school pride.

well, President Assad is naughty you know ;) , ..........Now, seriously, I feel the pain of the lebanese. better luck next time.

can anybody just contact the asian federation to just give us an explanation of how they decided to qualify syria....this is completely stupid....

China failed to make it to the semifinals because they decided to walk out from a game despite the fact that they were leading.

Referees? Perhaps. But in the final analysis, the main cause of their demise was the Chinese coach's stupidity.
