Or should that be Brandon Rosser?..But he is not 6'7..6'5 maybe..
His name was not submitted to the organizers, I think that is where the snag is..

Bobby Ray Parks Jr., son of seven-time Best Import in the Philippine Basketball Association, will try to make his mark when he spearheads the country’s 3-on-3 basketball team in the 1st Youth Olympic Games in Singapore from August 14 to 26.

According to Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) executive director Noli Eala, Parks will arrive Sunday to start training with the team.

The 6-foot-3, lefty will also be joining some of Smart-Gilas’ training to provide Serbian coach Rajko Toroman a glimpse of his future.

“Bobby Jr. is now in China in the Nike All Asia Camp and he will go back to Manila either on Saturday and Sunday. By next week, we will ask him to come in for the practices," said Eala.

So far, the 3-on-3 national team to the YOG is composed of Parks Jr., Jeron Teng and Michael Tolomia.

Teng is another second-generation player. He is the son of former San Miguel Beer stalwart Alvin Teng while Tolomia is the younger brother of another former PBA player Chester Tolomia.

The fourth slot is being disputed by Michael Pate and Fil-Am Brandon Rosner, who was discovered by RP Youth team coach Eric Altamirano during their training in Indiana, USA.

Rosner, according to Eala, is a 6-foot-7 player who plays like Nino Canaleta and has the built of a Rafi Reavis. The former PBA commissioner will surely help the team in its bid to get past the group elimination.

The team is bracketed in Group D with Spain, South Africa, Croatia and US Virgin Island.

For the team to advance past the elimination, it needs to win at least two games to have a fighting chance for the top two spots that will move into the next level.

“We’re preparing the papers of Rosner. But our main problem now is if whether or not the YOG organizers will allow him to play because the entry by names has lapsed. If he will be allowed to play, then its good for us but if not, we have to look for another player possibly, Pate to fill the last slot," explained Eala.

Now it's more clearer. . .I think it's not Rosner but Rosser. . . Brandon Rosser is a legit Fil-Am and he stands 6"5" not 6"7". . .

As a San Miguel fan, I'm pleased to learn the sons of 2 Beermen from the rollickin' late 80's (Parks/Teng) made the cut to the inaugural YOG roster.

Best of luck to the entire 4-man lineup!

As a Ravena believer im sad but Tolomia deserves it as he was part of the FIBA33 Phil team. and some players are more comfortable playing 5on5 than 3on3.

Members of RP Youth team (Boys) Last Asian Youth Games that placed 4th..
1. Jeron Teng
2. Michael Tolomia
3. Jeoffrey Javillonar
4. Emmanuel Bonleon

coach: Eric Altamirano.

as for Brandon Rosser hope he really is 6'7 now as he was 6'5 last year.

Hmmmm.. Oo nga noh..

Just a theory: Maybe they are preserving him for the FIBA Asia U18..

maybe. So we don't have Ravena-Parks tandem. what a letdown.

But the bright side is seeing them in the U-18.!:D

You got a point there.. I am a better full court player than a half court player.. So I can relate..^^

Teng and Michael has the experience.. Tolomia has the tapang.. I remember the China and Korea game in the FIBA 33 last year..:D

wew ray parks will show toroman what ?the future?
i dont understand unless sbp is considering ray parks to play with the national team srs..
it will be useless to let toroman see parks as toroman is a future enemy after his contract expires on 2011..:D;)

just joking..

will parks jr play with Phil u18 now that he is free from US' school walls..?

MANILA, Philippines - Brandon Rosner, the talented 6-7 Filipino American, will not suit up for the Philippine three-on-three basketball team competing in the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore this August.

Eric Altamirano, the RP Youth team coach who is serving as a consultant to Mon Jose in the Singapore-bound squad, yesterday said the 16-year-old Rosner’s parents decided against their son joining the Nationals.

“The parents don’t want to,” said Altamirano, whose Under-18 squad is participating in the FIBA-Asia Championships slated Sept. 22-Oct. 1 in Yemen.
