UAAP season 87

Why would it be impossible to be caught on video if it indeed happened? Onchie dela Cruz was caught spitting in the 80s. You can count in one hand the number of cameras in the whole venue, it was a dead ball situation and it just so happens one camera points at the right direction at the right moment.

If nothing happened, then that would be when having a video will be impossible.

With what we have now, nothing is conclusive for any of the arguments. "Nagsasayang lang tayo ng laway."

If there was clearer video, I am sure the UP folk would be spreading that video around on social media by now. It's been more than two days and there's nothing.

That's why the video they are spreading around is that slowed-down video from the TV coverage.

I just read this article, and it mentions that the UAAP is considering Topex’s past behavior in deciding whether he should be punished for the recent incident.

I’m not sure if the article is poorly written or if they actually intend to use past behavior to judge this current case, but if it’s the latter, that’s absolutely ridiculous.

First, the past behavior happened in a different league, over which the UAAP has no authority. Second, it was from when he was still a player. There’s a statute of limitations for imprisonment, but not for this?

Most importantly, any conclusion on this case should be based on concrete evidence for this incident alone. Looking into someone’s past should only serve to provide context or character background, not to dictate the final decision. The UAAP should extend grace, as it feels like we’re reverting to the outdated idea that people can never be forgiven or change for their past actions.

This is all moot. Whatever UP wants, UP gets with this Board.

Let’s take a look at UP: they receive government funding to recruit highly sought-after players, poach talent from other teams, and have used questionable tactics like manipulating JD’s eligibility. They even cleared JD’s name by leveraging whoever owned the video of him trying to hurt Kouame. Now, they’re blatantly trying to get an opposing coach suspended based on an unfounded accusation, yet their fans still want to act like they’re morally superior? Enough with UP, seriously.

They only won one championship to show for all this btw.

Government funding is unproven, but having Jonvic as a main backer and one of their ex-players on record saying they got cars from him isn't a good look.

The Cagulangan eligibility I agree with you is complete and utter BS. It was a belated move designed to get him additional years. And looking at UP's play against DLSU last Saturday without him, you understand why they did it.

Yeah Snow reported they went straight to Rebo instead of the ethics committee

Sir Sikat,
cc: Sir Crustacean,

man oh man!!

so the buzzin' in my ear are confirmed(?)

that's very uncalled for

they should not do that, they should not bypass the process

the impression would be the ethics committee would now become "the lame duck committee"

trust the process

otherwise, if something happens again, everyone can jump over somebody

and that's not cool moving forward.

all I can say is "parang wala naman kasi", wag ng mag maktol on both sides".

I agree, that Torres kid should be warned because I do remember his "cheap shots" last season

don't let that cuckoo in the head envelope him considering the J. Amores "wild wild west" incident is still fresh

UAAP should control the kid "mahirap na, may history na kasi eh" they should discipline that kid to avoid future(more)escalation.

Lets also consider the fact without conclusive evidence, if they get topex suspended, DLSU will not take this sitting down. This aint adamson or ue. Dlsu is a big big school with also proud alumni of their own. There'll be a riot.

UAAP board has been against DLSU for as long as I can remember. They've been getting the short end of the stick. If UP manages to get their way, there is nothing DLSU can do but cry. lol

I think dlsu management knows that and thats the problem. Everyone has their breaking point from all the bs they got. Wont be suprise if they call for a boycott of some sort.

He passed right in front of the camera and he was away from the action. Nobody pays attention the coaches compared to the players . He was clearly trolling by doing that in the middle of their run.

Also the govt funds thing is a slippery slope especially when it comes to DLSU and UP. The two most guilty teams but dlsu might be a little bit more at this point with how they moved recently

I dont think you caught that. I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy in all of this. UP, like many other schools, rolls around in dirt yet they act holier than though. It's insane.

Suspend both Torres and Topex—end of Story. DLSU has a whole platoon of coaches. They can manage without Topex.

Naveen in his podcast mentioned what Torres said to Topex in his taunting--- something like--- "Nagkakalat na mga bata mo"

If those were his exact words, my question is who taught him manners? It's as if he talking to a person his age or level. Bastos.

this is funny af to me. Nothing derogatory or below the belt it’s about the game .

I'm not the biggest Torres fan and I absolutely hate how he plays but yeah, this is tame and lame as a form of trashtalk lmao

We always have to look at things in context. No he didn't say foul language but it's who he said it to and when it was said. Simply put, Torres does not exemplify decorum towards his senior. Bastos in short.
