I am talking about contingency planning. I hope you understand where I am coming from.

FYI, di negative thinking ang contingency planning. In fact companies are required to have an effective BCP to ensure continuity of its operations during a disaster. For you to understand, whybdo you buy a life insurance policy? Mamatay ka na ba? Can I criticise you to be morbid or negative thinker if you purchase a policy?

what if castro & norwood gets into foul trouble or gets injured? who will step up? belga?

can we say: "i told you so"

let's just stop the "what ifs"

let's just support the team and i'm pretty sure gilas management knows what they're doing and has covered all the bases...

Kaya nga tayo nagpaplano para sa mga 'what if' scenarios na yan.

Let us admit that the coaching staff has failed to address the what if Marcus or Kraken gets injured scenario. Ito na naman ang "Bahala na si Batman" attitude nating mga Pinoy.

I am not a fan of Belga by the way. I was hoping for Slaughter to be our insurance policy.

maybe you can ask ateneo to release him first? what can chot do if slaughter does not join their overseas trainings?

Agree with this. Sometimes to have unity people would have to face a very difficult adversity. Now this Asian championship will be the best in years.
Yey! A senior member agreed with me XD im just a 16 yr old fan and I remember crying when phil lost to jordan in 2007. And sorry for this ot post. Hahaha

:D

Tell Tito Toots, Josh Reyes was asking about his boy.. I had to give him some background info (I hope I got it right though), he was a little confused with another fil-anz who he is going to look at tomorrw

Maybe josh reyes is already recruiting for ateneo?hehehe

hahaha..sawa ka na sa mga post na something like "we lost because the opponents scored more than 74pts" kaya iba naman ang pgkaka abalahan mo? or maybe you just want to increase the "number of people you pissed here". May specific target ka ba for your achievement? hehehe...get a life...or is it posting here in IBN is your life? tsk...tsk...tsk

sakto!

It is really dissappointing not to see Greg and rosser's name at the final line up but we have to accept it like true gentlemen. besides kots chot knowbest forthe team. I am a gilfas fanatic and will be supporting them no matter and whoever the players are.

Eh Di ikaw na Mag coach!

Some people really dont understand the word CIRCUMSTANCES.

I'd rather have a Belga who attended both camps than a Slaughter who missed both. Height is important, yes. But there are other things in basketball aside from height like playing as a TEAM.

And thats what Chot is always emphasizing. A team and not a collection of stars or tall people.

Complying after the deadline

Complying after the deadline

i was wondering if iraq/uae was informed that they will be joining the asian championships? if they were, would it be unfair to them if lebanon just suddenly came back?

I get your point buddy. My question is: Was there really a formal announcement or declaration from FIBA or FIBA-Asia that Lebanon is to be replaced by either Iraq or UAE? Like Khalid80 has said, FIBA has not made any official declaration that Lebanon is suspended. I think the news that Lebanon was suspended was based on the presumption that FIBA would eventually suspend Lebanon following Lebanon's failure to comply (within the deadline) with FIBA's demands to settle things within the Lebanese basketball federation. Then came that reports that the Lebanese was able to settle things thus complying with the FIBA demands, although such settlement came after the deadline set by FIBA.

Now, with your question: Wouldn't be unfair on the part of Iraq/UAE that it won't play in the coming FIBA-Asia Championship as Lebanon's replacement since Lebanon has been reinstated?

Well, I think it would only be unfair for either Iraq or UAE if there was an "official" announcement by FIBA or FIBA-Asia, for that matter, that Lebanon is suspended and that Iraq/UAE will be it's replacement. But from the looks of things, there seems to be no announcement from either FIBA or FIBA-Asia regarding this matter.

I think what would also complicate things is the fact that Lebanon was able to comply with FIBA's demands after the "deadline". If I'm not mistaken, the original deadline was July 5. Then it was extended to July 12, 2013 (Lebanon time). As it turned out, Lebanon was able to comply only yesterday, July 13, 2013.

I stand corrected by what I've said gentlemen.

I can tell you that they addressed I think almost ALL the things that we have been talking about in this forum. Not that I'm close to the team, but they have better basketball minds than we keyboard coaches have. Yeah, include me.

As for Slaughter, you can't really force someone to play if he or the circumstances doesn't permit him to commit full time. He's kind of half-hearted about anything as per reports anyway. Let him finish his studies, get in the PBA, avoid an SMC team as much as possible, and all our wishes for a gigantic front line will be true. You can even sneak Sangalang in the future.

Hahaha. Was a lurker since 2006 and became an active member after a year but went on hiatus after the 2011 tourney and eventually forgot my handle and password. Thats too much info sorry for the o.t.

Now back to regular programming!

I am not a fan of playing small ball because of practical reasons.

One is contingency planning. If either Marcus or Kraken gets injured, who will step up? Jimmy?

That's the problem with us Filipinos, we are not just poor in history but also we dont have any foresight or contingency planning. Risk management seems to be an alien goobledygook to us.

I hate to say to this when it happens: "I told you so".

Lets wait for chot's comment about this..

Remember some of our NT members are lurking in this forum. Be careful what you post. :) you dont want chot to air "madami geinuses e" again in publc from reading the post here do you?
