Euroleague, Day 5, TOP 16

well the topic must have been set as Euroleague TOP 16 Week 5 ... anyway lietuvos won surprisingly over panathinaikos and gain the 2nd position. if Caja Laboral wins against Rytas bigger than 3 points Caja Laboral will qualify

They have to win against Unicaja at first, and that will be a contest as well..

Congrats to Vilnius! A great win in Athens that gives Rytas more confidence going into their all-decisive home game against CLA. Should CLA win tomorrow vs. Unicaja, it will be "the winner takes it all" game. Should CLA lose, Rytas will be able to afford a loss by a maximum of two points in order to advance.
Who would have thought so... this team played so bad during the regular season (yes, a win against an injury depleted Barca with the best outing by Saras this year) but got it act together so nicely in the TOP 16. Funn enough, PAO still isn't qualified for the playoffs. Should Rytas win the next match and PAO lose in Malaga, they will be out of the competition!

Congrats to Rytas and all their fans! They played better and deserved the win.

I'm extremely disappointed with PAO's performance tonight... No fighting spirit and played a horrible game. Shooting 2-15 from 3PT range on your home court ..... No comment

Great win...oh my god...ok, need one more win ant that will be in Vilnius. :D

Brad Newley finally played real basketball what I expected to see from him. :)

If Caja wins against Unicaja, any point difference win against Rytas in Vilnius would take them further.

If Caja looses to Unicaja, they will have to win in Vilnius against Rytas by at least 4 points.

I didn't watch much of PAO games this season, but could any green fan tell me why this historic team is playing so lethargic lately? It seems like they are playing much better on the road than they do at their home court - feeling the pressure maybe? And it's not like Rytas played some outstanding offensive game (like they did in Vitoria) afterall...our players were missing wide open layups and jumpers all night long and still managed to win.
PAO has plenty to think about I guess.

Trifunovic is such a terrible coach, bring back genius Kurtis :D

P.S. Congrats, it is already a great achievement and I guess that Pao fans will be sincerely cheering for Rytas next week :p

It will be funny if Unicaja wins both upcoming matches and if Caja wins in Lithuania. Every team will have 3-3 if that happens

I wish PAO had won by 20 so that I'll have the chance to read zillions of bullshit posts from KWSN-Men.

Things like
"PAO starts to make things thight when it matters"
"We didn't care previous matches but you see what we can do when we care"
"This team is still the best team bla bla blaa"

my bad
i got it all wrong.
But still
rytas needs to win to make sure they qualify

Congrats Rytas. It was a very critical match for both sides and the week began with a surprise result.

Really interesting. This year my predictions exactly come true for Efes. i expected a group just like the last year for Efes and yes we see Siena, Real and Partizan as opponents. i give %50 above to Efes for the next round. But of course every club can reach the tickets that will carry to the last 8.

in grup H Olympiakos and FBU have significantly weighted to finish the top 2 places. i surely expect the first place from FBU players to see more clear the f4.

Actually i don't understand why people see Pana as a clear favourite in this group, maybe for f4. Olympiakos might be ok but it will be very very hard for Pana to reach the f4. Every team in this group can get the top places.

And group F is most balanced group for me. Olimpia totally satisfied me with their ambition - passion - game plan etc. i have great respect for them. People who haven't watched their games yet will might surprise in this round. Nothing is clear here like almost the other groups.

Good luck to all teams.

amusing post about nothing.
at this point i expect the blood start spilling out.

If you watch the games and see the situation of the teams you can make clear predictions but if you are blinded because of the team names you can be just funny.

Congratulations for great effort to both teams.
