Not open for further replies.
lebanon went down from 70.5 to 63 ( -7.5) but still kept our ranking. iran went up 15 points and now are in 21 place with 89.1 points. jordan went up 9 points and are now in 39 place with 19.5 points. those stats are not final i guess.

our young prospects are very talented and i mean loads specially ahmed ibrahim who plays wed patterson tigers in the states
(he was born in lebanon) and many others we r worry about our senior NT cuz u know fady is done i think but he still can give (not now may be next season) the only player who is old is brian beshara (32 YO) any way IMO we should change dragan Raca and every thing will be alright cuz dragan didn't use the players in the rit way .

How would u compare their talent level to other asian competitors like Iran, China and Korea? As far as i am concerned, those three have somewhat decent system (not just talent but a whole system) to "grow" talents in to players, what kind of program does LIB have and how does LIB's Underaged team do in international games (like U18, U21)?

if am not mistakin i don't belive we have a system, but we r doing well producing young talented players and then send theme to USA for example we have like 5 young players now in the states and they r lebanese native (i mean they were born in lebanon) i don't remember all of theme, ahmed ibrahim (remember his name), tareq ammoury, bassil bawji, mustapha akkari, hayke (i dont remember his sure name), and there is 1 in france pro A his name is alexander abdallh his now 20 and he played with the U19 leabnese NT in 2007 U19 world Championship in serbia ( yes this is the answer about the Underaged teams in lebanon).

If the 20 yo player you said really play for the 2007 U19 world Championship in serbia for france he will never play for your NT even he born in Lebanon.
So I think you should grow young players youself by your system, don't too rely on other country.

He played for Lebanon, but he's currently residing in France.

You have a system but your system was like ours,"pick up" system.Picking up players reinforcements without ample time to prepare.:D

read well befor posting i said he played for lebanese U19 NT, ;) thx for ur reply .

to me fadi elkhatib should retire,he's not anymore that tiger,he is a leader,he led us to the loss
go home,u're not even suitable to play in the lebanese clubs

My friend I guess we should not Khatib for the losses that we had. I agree that he wasn't in form throughout the asian championship but u couldn't say suddenly that is not useful anymore. Remember 3 months ago he was the leading scorer in the lebanese championship and last month he posted 2 30pt games in william jones cup. I guess he did not fit into the new system since he was the go-to guy and now he is among a bunch of stars.

Anyway, we should be looking forward from here and work more on our new talents before our team ages.

If Lebanon is doing what they are doing in recruiting players today ten years ago, maybe they are unbeatable in Asia for decades now, because today, if you sound Lebanese and plays good basketball, you are a Lebanese by origin thus you can play for the national team! So if ten years ago they do this, maybe their players are Shareef Adbul-rahim, Tariq Adbul-wahad, Nazr Mohammed and Mahmoud Adbul-rauf, all play in the NBA plus get a naturalized player, maybe Wang Zhizhi, Ma jian, Menke BAteer, and Yao Ming basketball dynasty in Asia is not made then they can give teams like Argentina, Serbia, Spain and even team USA a scare!:D:D

Our national team should go through a renovation process where we could focus on our talented youngsters so that we could have an excellent young roster in 2 years time.

The roster should be something like that:

-Rodrigue Akl
-Mazen Mneimne
-Elie Estephan
-Jihad El Murr ( he averaged 16 pts and 6 boards during the championship)
-Roy Samaha
-Bashir Saad
-Ali Kenaan
-Bassel Bawji
-Daniel Fares ( if he comes back- great talent but somehow slim body)
-Jad Bitar

We should also include Ali Mahmoud since he is still relatively young with a lot of experience.

Also maybe in the future we could also look to include Ahmad Ibrahim who seems to be a great prospect and we should work extensively work on Elie Haber( first to lose some weight and then teach him some post skills) we need such a giant to be playing at a high level for our team

i think he is joking rit, bashir saad!!!!!! jad bitar !!!!!! jihad el murr waz a summer cloud come on man they need at least 5 yearsto be good enough for the lebanese NT, the current NT has the best talents in our history but we have no strategy no chimestry no center that y we sucked and most of all bad coach .

u r talking like we an aged NT, dude the team average is 26, i mean the only old player is brian and may be fadi (he still can play for 2 more years) so no
need for such useless posts we r happy with our current NT, thank you

No my friend this is how we should work, work on players that can get better, players that have potential.

Bashir Saad is only 18 years old, 198 cm, strong body, and he can run the floor and play defence already! So in 2 years he will be a great prospect.
As for Jihad El Murr, he was doing great time after time in the lebanese championship and what shows is his average(16pts and 6.5 rebs).

If I asked you about those Iranian players that won today 3 or 4 years ago, you would have thought that they could do nothing but here they are my friend.

I just don't get most of you guys, just yesterday all of you were saying that the NT is awesome and should have won over China, played the final and even qualified to the world cup, now that we lost to Jordan ya'll saying the team sucks and we need to replace this and let go that blablabla, i mean for the love of heaven just give the guys some credits they fucking had less than 15 hours to rest, after a game in which they gave all their energy and after a pshycological and moral shock. how would you expect them to play?? and for crying out loud stop putting the blame on Fadi, he did not show a good basketball nor this is his real level but the guy was the only one playing today so give him a break..

Look at the Chinese they lost by 18 points isn't that clearly because they were exhausted from yesterday's game, even though they had more time to rest than we did .

Guys now our nt is averaging 26 yrs old, if we replace fadi(30), bryan(32), by two players that are less than 20 years old(For example bassel bawzi and ahmad ibrahim) the new age average will be: 24 years old which is excellent.

NOW THE SOLUTION IS ELIE EL HABER!!! WE NEED A TALL CENTER!!!

My friend I hope u respect what I said coz I respect ur opinion. I guess nothing is useless, this is a discussion and I guess we all want the best for our team. All what am saying is that in 2 years time if you look at our starting lineup u will see rony fahed at 30, fadi at 32, bryan at 34, i donnow if we get matt freiji to play again for us! So we got to keep the young talents of our team and introduce other new talent so that they will be ready in 2-3 years time.

Of course, all the credit for our guys, they were very good against china but we need to look ahead
