A definate win for Žalgiris

Watson is a definate win for Žalgiris. The guy can rebound, he can score and bring some energy in as well. I truly expected someone not as strong, good for Žalgiris, for Lithuanian basketball, but not so much for my beloved team. :)

Here are some more of my thoughts on Watson's signing.
 
I thought for sure that Watson was going to be a replacement for Jankunas at PF but as im sure all of you know already thats not the case.Can't wait to find out who's gonna be our new center,i think we'll know for sure in the next week or so,no rumors so far concerning this signing as far as i know.Let's hope it's someone as good as Bubba,my gut tells me it's going to be someone from this years NBA summer league but we'll see

I would suggest you to stop listening to GM's as if they were some kind of basketball prophets. For sure they don't want to say that Watson is coming to replace Jankūnas when nothing is really set yet. But from what Jankūnas has said lately I've got an impression that current Žalgiris' offer is not enough for him. My guess is that next week Paulius will sign with "Chimki" or maybe some other bigger club.

sorry for spamming and OT, but these pics just came to my attention. The girl is very beautiful....But kalnietis, lol. I dont know what kind of fashion trends are in force in Kaunas, but his suit is just ridiculous. I wouldnt use the material the suit is made of even for my curtains. :rolleyes:

Im sure majority of people also thought that Watson was gonna replace Jankunas when the news broke of his signing.But head coach of the team saying that Watson wasn't brought in as a starter/Jankunas replacement is hardly a prophecy,more of a matter of fact statement innit :rolleyes: If Jankunas leaves another guy will be brought in to replace him,and he will be obviously be bought SPECIFICALLY to replace Paulius,unlike Watson who was aquired to simply strenghten the team's rotation and give us more depth.


P.S , like the new jerseys,glad they kept it nice and simple for once lol.Still wish they would have brought back the retro design with thin vertical stripes running down the jersey,that uniform was teh sex.

Jan, wake up. You are just jealous. You will be never be able to dunk from a free line. And to buy the suit that bad.
Still Babrauskas has a wife, well; he had probably to take a huge morgate to marry her

Žalgiris will have 14 players this season: Šarūnas Vasiliauskas, Marcusas Brownas, Martynas Pocius, Adas Juškevičius, Mantas Kalnietis, Žygimantas Janavičius, Tadas Klimavičius, Travisas Watsonas, Povilas Butkevičius, Mirza Begičius, Dainius Šalenga, Artūras Milaknis, Siim-Sander Vene, Povilas Čukinas.

Krapikas is saying that every single game there will be different 2 players that will miss the game. I don't like this decision. it's comfortable for Žalgiris, but it's waste of young talents. The young players will be benched most of the time.
 
Wow, so many avatars with Pocius after few games! :) His the killer instinct playing style is really worth attention. We'll see how he will look in Euroleague.
 
Žalgiris is currently negotiating with a new big sponsor and if the deal is made, Žalgiris will have a sponsor's logo instead of a team name on their jerseys in Euroleague games. :eek: This would be the first time in history, when Žalgiris doesn't have its name written on the jerseys. Well, these are difficult times for everyone, including basketball teams...
