if ever jaworski will coach Air21, they would be the new crowd favorite team in the league. Brgy. Air21.. go go go hehehe..

it won't happen... he will not be a coach of air21.
he is loyal with bgk even if he doesn't coach the team in a long time.

Red Bull beefs up roster, taps Espinas

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Red Bull beefed up its frontline rotation yesterday as it acquired former NCAA MVP Gabby Espinas from Air21 in exchange for the Bulls’ first round pick in 2009.

Coach Yeng Guiao said Espinas, at 6-foot-4, can match up with the power forwards of other teams with his inside skills.

“We’re almost complete with our acquisition of Espinas and the signing of Larry Rodriguez and Jeff Chan. The two remaining slots are being contested by Topex Robinson, Kiko Adriano, Paolo Hubalde and Al Magpayo,” said Guiao.

Dropped from the Red Bull roster were Mark Andaya and Paolo Bugia.

Air21 gave up Espinas after coming to terms with draftees Mark Borboran and Pocholo Villanueva to complete its 12-man roster. The Bert Lina franchise has earlier released Ervin Sotto to Alaska Milk.

Air21 governor and team manager Lito Alvarez said they’re signing up Borboran to a three-year pact and Villanueva to a two-year contract.

Several teams are after Red Bull’s Rich Alvarez and Air21’s JC Intal but the management of both ballclubs said they have no intention of trading the two players.

Meanwhile, three draftees in Pong Escobal, Mark Cuevas and Christian Cabatu became unrestricted free agents after being left unsigned following the required five-day signing period by the league.

In the case of Escobal, Talk n Text may be awaiting the end of the NCAA season to sign up the crack San Beda point guard.

Cuevas was picked by Red Bull at No. 18 and Cabatu was drafted at No. 20 by Sta. Lucia.

The rest of the draftees have either signed a UPC (uniform player’s contract) or a tender offer. The first players given UPC are Fil-foreign players Gabe Norwood, Jarred Dillinger, Rob Reyes and Solomon Mercado, all guaranteed of P8.7 million over three years. – Nelson Beltran

hey where's juntilla and membrere?

Larry Rodriguez is clearly a legit 6'5", and he's taller than his teammates in the Pampanga Buddies Jared Dillinger ( 6'3"), Emerson Oreta ( 6'1"), and Christian Luanzon ( 6'3").

In an interview with NBN sports, Jong Uichico revealed that they are looking for Rudy Hatfield in Michigan!

That's a great news, and Hatfield is one of the most hardworking player in the PBA.

Larry Rodriguez maybe the steal in the draft. He's not flashy but effective hard-nosed no non-sense player. A taller version of Rey Evangelista IMO. If he can develop his outside shooting, he'll be a star.

Redbull will have 4 former NCAA and UAAP MVP's in their official roster.

Gabby Espinas - ( First Rookie-MVP in the NCAA)
Rich Alvarez ( 2 time UAAP MVP)

Joselito Duncil - (2006 UAAP Finals MVP)

surprisingly, Najorda is the most effective among the three.

It looks like Redbull will be back in the Semifinals round because every year they are one of the toughest team in the All Filipino Cup.

Redbull will now be a deeper team next season, and I really liked the performance of Leo Najorda in the All Filipino Cup because he always played better in the playoffs.

Gabby Espinas will earn some playing time under Coach Yeng Guaio, and let see if 6'6" Rookie Mark Cuevas will contribute in his first season in the PBA.

And Cyrus Baguio is just getting better every year, and I hope that the Management will not trade him to the San Miguel Beermen.

to what i've observed in Red Bull's management is, they don't keep stars for long in their team, some of those stars are; Willie Miller, Enrico Villanueva, Lordy Tugade.. maybe it's Yeng Guiao who requests to trade them.. Yeng Guiao do not need the "Superstars" in his lineup. :)

Redbull as a PBA Expansion Team already won 4 Championship since joining the league in the 2000 Season, and i believe that Coach Yeng Guiao utilized his player skills that's why they don't need a Superstar to become a contending team in the PBA.

They have more championships than the Talk N Text Phonepals, and Sta. Lucia Realtors.
