The 2022 FIFA World Cup schedule has been announced. Even though there are a few teams with work to do, the group stage matchups are now set. We’ll have several months to project who will make it out of the group stage play, and which teams will get upset. The United States and England will see each other in Group B play while fans will get to enjoy Mexico taking on Messi and Argentina in Group C.
The FIFA World Cup will get started on Monday, November 21st, 2022 with the finals set for Sunday, December 18th, 2022. Brazil enters the tournament as the overall #1 team in the world with France being the defending World Cup Champions. This is the first participation in 37 years for the host country, Qatar which is set to play in Group A.
2022 World Cup Tournament Setup
Similar to past years, the 2022 World Cup schedule follows the same format as in past World Cups. The 32 team group stage results in the top 16 teams moving on to single-elimination play. The top two teams from each of the eight groups move on in the tournament. In the single elimination play, there are no ties. You can download the 2022 World Cup schedule in PDF format here.
