Fran Vazquez, Spain![]() FibaEurope: The man who turned down the NBA to play for Akasvayu Girona after being picked #11 in the draft will make his debut in Serbia and Montenegro in an official competition with the national team. A late bloomer, Vázquez has developed into a top level center: tall, athletic and skilled. Standing 209cm and with very long arms, Vázquez has a special feeling for blocks in defense and alley-oops and dunks in offense, where he can make great moves around the basket: hook and jump hook shots, mid-range and turnaround jumpers, besides unexpected quickness and coordination. Even though he has to gain weight and get experience, he is the most skilled center of the team despite his young age and is ready to play a big role at EuroBasket. |
