The WNBA All-star game rosters are out. With the release of the 24 players participating in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, the final vote tallies are in and to no one’s surprise, Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA vote record this year. She led all WNBA All-Star vote getters with 700,735 votes.
She was nearly 100,000 votes ahead of the best player in the WNBA, A’ja Wilson. All pretty awesome. The 2024 WNBA All Star game is set up a tad different than the NBA’s absolute snoozefest we saw this year. We get to see the Women’s Olympic Team against the 12 players that received the most votes (and not picked to represent the Red, White, and Blue in Paris).
How Many All-Star Votes Did Caitlin Clark Receive?
Here’s the top five vote getters for the 2024 WNBA All Star game. You can see that Caitlin Clark is north of 700K which is crazy when you compare it to the final tallies from last year’s WNBA All-Star final voting results.
# | Player 2024 | Team | 2024 Votes | Player 2023 | Team | 2023 Votes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | *Caitlin Clark* | IND | 700,735 | A’ja Wilson | LVA | 95,860 |
2 | Aliyah Boston | IND | 618,680 | Breanna Stewart | NYL | 87,586 |
3 | A'ja Wilson | LVA | 607,300 | Brittney Griner | PHX | 72,637 |
4 | Breanna Stewart | NYL | 424,135 | Aliyah Boston | IND | 72,294 |
5 | Angel Reese | CHI | 381,518 | Jackie Young | LVA | 63,262 |
Even the biggest Caitlin Clark haters can’t deny her popularity provided the women’s game a huge push in attendance and fan engagement. You don’t have to be a math major to quickly glance at by the side-by-side comparison table to see that 2024 set a milestone for the WNBA All-Star Game. The 2024 voting tallies are exponentially higher than 2023.
In second place after Clark’s 700,735 votes is Aliyah Boston with 618,680. Already a popular player, Boston no doubt benefited from playing alongside Clark on the Indiana Fever. The Fever fans definitely know how to represent. Then, we have two future hall of farmers with Wilson and Stewart. Rounding out the top five vote getters with 381,518 votes is the 6-foot-3 rebounding machine Angel Reese who is neck and neck with Clark for the ROY honors this year. Altogether WNBA All-Star voting exploded by more than 600% with Clark’s impact on the league’s viewership and visibility.
