A question that comes up every June is who has hit the most 3s in an NBA finals game? No surprise, but Steph Curry leads the way with 9 3s made. You’ll see Curry appear multiple times on our list. Mavs fans will be pleased to see that Kyrie Irving is on the list too from the 2017 NBA Finals when playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. We haven’t seen anyone add to the list in the past two NBA Finals, so we’ll see if any Celtics or Mavs players can do so before the 2024 NBA Finals are complete.
Most 3s in an NBA Finals Game
Steph Curry is well Steph Curry. He has 618 threes in his NBA Playoff career and that’s over a hundred more than his Splash Brother Klay Thompson. If Curry is playing, it’s safe to use a Gamdom bonus code (15% rakeback) and put some money down on Curry hitting multiple threes. No surprise that Curry holds the NBA Playoff record for most 3s in an NBA Finals game with nine. He did this in the 2018 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers when he hit 9/17 from distance. Steph would shoot 52.9% from 3 and score 33 points in the game. Here’s the all-time NBA Finals leaders for most threes in one Finals match:

Ray Allen is second with eight, then we go back to Curry who notched 7 3’s twice during the 2022 Finals against the Celtics and five additional times. It is interesting to note that none of these games was one of the highest scoring or on the 50 or more points list in the NBA Finals for any of the players on both lists
All-Time Most 3 Pointers Made – NBA Finals
So, the other view to take on 3 pointers made in the NBA Finals is total number made. This not only shows us who can shoot, but who has done so the most overtime in the games that really matter (the NBA Finals). Steph Curry also leads the way here with 152 3 pointers made. Klay Thompson is second with 106…then we have The King with 101 to round out those who have made more than 100 in their career. In my opinion, this is one of the more impressive stats not just individually, but for great teams too.
Rank | Player | 3-pointers |
1 | Stephen Curry | 152 |
2 | Klay Thompson | 106 |
3 | LeBron James | 101 |
4 | Danny Green | 59 |
J.R. Smith | 59 | |
6 | Robert Horry | 56 |
7 | Ray Allen | 55 |
8 | Kobe Bryant | 48 |
