USA-Slovenia Boxscore, Recap: U.S. slaughters Slovenia by 43 points

After a close first half which saw the United States up just seven points at halftime, the USA exploded in the second half, ultimately beating Slovenia by 43 points — 119-76 —  in what was supposed to be a much more competitive match. Slovenia could not withstand the onslaught.

Each of the 12 players on the USA roster scored, led by lay Thompson who continually plays well off the ball.  The other off-the-ball player, Kenneth Faried, recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Here is the boxscore for both Team USA and Slovenia:

James Harden had 14 points. Anthony Davis added 13 and had a team high 11 rebounds. Derrick Rose shook off a shaky last several games to score 12 points. Kyrie Irving also scored 12.

Phoenix Sun guard Goran Dragic led Slovenia with 13 points.

With the win, the US advances to the round of eight of the FIBA World Cup and will face Lithuania.
