We’re about a quarter of the way through the season and we’ve witnessed unexpected franchises playing above their predicted levels (including two in our list below) and several disappointments in the Portland Trailblazers, New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors to name a few.
We’ve definitely seen an increase in scoring with teams scoring into the 130’s … and losing the game. That’s all to say that the 2019-20 season has already been packed with offense, drama and highlights.
NBA Season Offers Exciting Teams to Follow
If you’re more of a fan of the game off the court than a skilled hoops star on it then you’ll no doubt enjoy the occasional basketball wager. If you do, there are lots of excellent teams this season that you can support and may give you value for your investment.
Let’s take a look at the league’s best and most-exciting teams. Not just ones that will win you some money, but will be fun to watch as you wager some bucks with plenty of options for basketball betting. In this post, we take a look at our top five NBA teams of the season, including rising stars Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles rivals, Lakers and Clippers. Here they are from the best bets on down.
Los Angeles Lakers With Frank Vogel taking the helm, the Lakers have put victory in their sights, which shouldn’t be too much of a chore given their start to the season and their strengthening of the squad. Vogel has garnered the respect of his players due to his extensive preparation before each game and this has shone through each match.
The power duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis has caused havoc on the court, leaving opposition trembling at how quickly the twosome’s early chemistry. Add to that the 3-point shooting of Danny Green, Avery Bradley’s defense and play makers Rajon Rondo and Alex Caruso, the Lakers have a star team in the making. We’ve seen with their best start of the season for 34 years.
Los Angeles Clippers Dreams are made (and ruined) in Los Angeles, and like the Lakers, the Clippers want all the trophies this year. Though they might have to work a bit harder seeing as though they didn’t have the best start to the season with a series of losses.
At the time of writing the Clippers have risen up to second in the Western Conference. It’s not a surprise considering they have four potential all-stars in Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell.
Miami Heat Over in the Eastern Conference, the heat is on in Miami. In a good way. With seven players averaging double digits points, Miami Heat are playing what can only be described as really good basketball. And they’ve got a an all-star to take over for Dwyane Wade in good friend Jimmy Butler.
Under Butler’s leadership, the surprising Heat are outworking and out shooting their opponents thanks to an influx of young players contributing to the team’s success including Kendrick Nunn, Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, the out-of-nowhere Duncan Robinson, and Derrick Jones Jr.
Dallas Mavericks Success rests on the shoulders of youth for the Mavericks. Second-year star Luka Doncic hasn’t just been integral to the team’s early successes, but he’s the engine and future face for the entire franchise. Luka is teaming up with off season acquisitions Kristaps Porzingis, Jalen Brunson, Seth Curry, and Boban Marjanović to push the Mavs to a surprising third in the Western Conference. Make no mistake though, all this rests on the 20 year old Doncic as the head of the snake.
Boston Celtics Okay, so the Celtics are an interesting choice. But we love interesting. Fourth in the conference, you’d think the only way to go is up and after last season’s debacle, that’s where they plan on heading. The departure of Kyrie Irving, Aron Baynes and Al Horford were a good thing as the current squad has regrouped and is playing better than ever. Kemba Walker has taken up the space Irving left while Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have re-established themselves as the next wave of NBA stars to watch out for.
