The NBA Draft Lottery has been determined and it looks like Blake Griffin will be in a Clipper uniform come the 2009-10 season.
The Los Angeles Clippers grabbed the number one overall pick and will most-likely select Blake Griffin, the 6-10, 250lb, explosive power forward from Oklahoma.
Ricky Rubio, who has been the consensus number two pick after Griffin, will likely remain there and be selected by the Memphis Grizzlies, whom got the second pick in the draft.
If Memphis does select Rubio, he will team up with fellow Spanish National Teammate Marc Gasol, as well as O.J. Mayo and Rudy Gay on an exciting Memphis squad. Rubio will compete for the spot with second year player Mike Conley, Jr.
If the Grizzlies’ roster remains the same as last season and they do take the 6-3 point guard phenom, the Memphis squad will have five international players on their roster; Rubio would join Pau Gasol’s little brother, Hamed Haddadi (Iran), Marko Jaric (Serbia), and former number two pick Darko Milicic of Serbia.
Despite having the best chance for the #1 overall pick, the Sacramento Kings end up with the fourth overall pick. The Kings had a 25% chance at snagging the #1 pick. The Oklahoma City Thunder will pick third, after Memphis. The Washington Wizards dropped from having the second highest chance for the #1 pick to fifth.
