In the NBA, the popularity and competition can make players do crazy things. The league is filled with talented players, and impressive happenings occur often. This is also what makes it so exciting to watch and to bet on the league. However, it is not that easy to remember all that has happened, so let’s have a look at it.
Watching the NBA is a great activity to do with friends and family. The league consists of several games, and now you can watch and bet on the 2022 playoffs, which will be played from April 16 to June 19. Betting is a great way to make the games even more exciting and if you want to test it out yourself, you can have a look at betting guides to make it easier. Now, let’s revisit some of the crazy events that probably no one bet would happen.
1. The tunnel war of the Rockets/Clippers (2018)
The Rockets/Clippers tunnel war is without a doubt, this is the most bizarre story in NBA history. It all went down at the Staples Center, where Chris Paul, a former Clipper, was playing against his old team. As the game progresses CP3 and several Clippers, particularly Blake Griffin and Austin Rivers, are clearly at odds.
The craziness all starts when Chris Paul and fellow star James Harden utilized a secret passage in the Staples Center’s bowls to sneak into the Clippers’ locker room after the game. Clint Capela was put in charge of distracting the opposite team, while the others snuck in the back door. They then reportedly knocked on the door and slammed it in their faces. A pretty absurd tale.

2. KCPs in-game ankle monitor (2017)
Suspicious behavior does not only happen in the stadiums in the NBA. Some players are also showing off some not-so okay behavior on the court. In 2017, Laker’s winger Kentavious Caldwell-Pope received a DUI while playing for Detroit. The player was sent to prison for 25 days; however, he was able to leave prison for games through a work-release program, but he couldn’t leave California.
KCP, therefore, received a “DNP-personal reasons” in certain road games. And played with an ankle monitor during his games in this period. At the time, it wasn’t even a huge issue. Wonder how it would have been perceived today!
3. JR Smith’s soup fight (2018)
Former Lakers player JR Smith has been involved in quite a few bizarre moments in the NBA. However, there is especially one that stands out to us, and that deserves a spot on this list. Smith got penalized by the Cavaliers after he threw soup on assistant coach Damon Jones. Things are undoubtedly screamed back and forth, and the shooting guard simply throws the soup dish at the assistant coach. Smith was suspended. Not sure if anything more needs to be explained, other than that this was a strange move by Smith that will not be forgotten so soon.
4. The not so Amazing Grace (2018)
If there are any Black-Eyed Peas fans that read this, we are sorry, but you probably know what is next on the list. The female vocalist in the band went solo and was put to sing the national anthem during the NBA All-Stars Game in 2018, and she did not wow anyone in the crowd. The song was in fact so bad that it became an internet sensation, and not in a good way. It was clear that the otherwise great singer got too tempted, and made her performance about herself, and not on the National Anthem. That backlashes for sure!
