In the game of basketball, turnovers are the worst. You lose the opportunity to take a shot at the basket, the flow and rhythm of the offense is disrupted and it can impact the confidence of the player. That said, turnovers are an inevitable part of the game: an errant pass, dribbling off your foot, the ball slips out of your hand; it happens.
Turnovers happen to the best players because they often have the ball in their hands the most. In our list of WNBA players with the most turnovers in a single game, you’ll recognize several names on the list. That’s because those names can be found among the best WNBA players to have ever played the game.
Even legendary players experience off nights and tough games handling the ball. So much so that many of them have reached double-digit turnover numbers. At the top of the list by a mile is former WNBA All-Star Kristi Toliver a record-breaking 14 turnovers during a game on May 29, 2012 against the Tulsa Shock. While she holds the infamous single game record for turnovers in a game, Toliver had a happy ending. She hit a game winning buzzer beater in that same 14-turnover game; giving the Los Angeles Sparks a 76-75 win over the Shock.
Toliver is good company as far as most turnovers in league history. She is joined by Hall-of-Famer Becky Hammon, G.O.A.T.s Diana Taurasi and Angel McCoughtry, multiple-time WNBA All-Stars Nikki McCray and Chamique Holdsclaw and current All-Stars Caitlin Clark and Arike Ogunbowale. Only 14 players have ever reached double-digit turnovers in a single WNBA game. Here they are:

So when estimating which player will add their names to this list, it’s a safe bet at casino en ligne francais that it will be a player that has the ball in their hands often. Usually a superstar or all-star caliber player is a good wager.
McCoughtry, known for her scoring abilities, had an off night on July 31, 2014, with 11 turnovers while playing for the Atlanta Dream. Similarly, Crystal Langhorne tallied 11 turnovers on June 26, 2011 playing for the Washington Mystics.
Taurasi is the all-time leader in turnovers and the WNBA superstar had a career high eleven turnovers on July 3, 2010 for the Phoenix Mercury, reminding us once again that even Hall of Famers can have tough games. The top 20 players to have the most turnovers all-time is a like a who’s who of the best players in WNBA history.
Another notable player is WNBA All-Star Betty Lennox, who also had 11 turnovers on August 9, 2000, while playing for the Minnesota Lynx. She held the record for most turnovers for 12 years before Toliver surpassed it by three turnovers. Lennox’s 11 turnovers is still the most by a rookie.
Caitlin Clark ends her first WNBA regular season game with 20 points, 2nd most in a player making their WNBA debut for the Indiana Fever (Tamika Catchings – 23).
Her 10 turnovers are a WNBA debut record and most for a 1st-year player since Betty Lennox had 11 on August 9, 2000.

More recently, Clark and Ogunbowale, two WNBA All-Stars, joined the list in 2024 with 10 turnovers each. Ogunbowale’s struggles with ball control occurred on June 2, 2024, for the Dallas Wings. Clark, playing for the Indiana Fever, recorded her 10 turnovers on May 14, 2024 during her rookie season. It’s no surprise she might have some turnovers as Clark also passed for a WNBA record 19 assists. Both records are was just two of the many records Clark has set in her rookie season.
