While they enter group play as +4000 favorites over South Sudan, they barely beat them in exhibition play. If this teaches us anything, it’s that just about anything can happen in basketball. How Strong are the Canadian and French National Basketball Teams?
Canada and France are the two national teams expected to be able to test Team USA the most in the Olympics. Canada has one of the best backcourts in the tournament between Jamal Murray and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (both Kentucky alums). When you add in RJ Barrett, Dillon Brooks, Lu Dort and Kelly Olynyk, you can see how they are going to be tough. Of course, France has Rudy Gobert and Wemby. If they have good guard play, watch out.
