Basketball Assists, Europe

All of Miloš Teodosić’s passing highlights with the Los Angeles Clippers

Miloš Teodosić is a 30-year-old NBA rookie that spent all of his professional basketball career in Europe. Teodosić finally decided to come to the NBA after being the best play maker in Europe for a decade, and wanted to finally test his mettle stateside.

.

Looking at Teodosić, the Serbian point guard looks more like the lead singer of an indie band than a NBA player, what with his unshaven beard and what looks like unkempt hair covering the sides of his head, but make no mistake, he’s a great basketball player. And sorry Ben Simmons, but he’ the best passer in this rookie class, and already one of the best assist men in the entire league.

Even if you’re not familiar with his resume in Europe you get a taste of his flair and instincts through the four preseason games he’s played in.

Through those four games, Teodosić passed out 22 assists, of which many were highlight worthy. Here’s a video compilation of all of Miloš’ assists

A 70-foot scoop pass? Check. Several passes in stride? Check. Lobs off the pick and roll? Check. You can tell tthe scruffy 6-5 guard doesn’t have to think about passing; he just has a feeling of what’s going to happen before it happens, and then makes it happen.

Some players make themselves great point men, and some players are just born with an innate ability to find the open man without thinking or looking at them. To a handful of players, it’s more a sense, a feeling, than it is a skill That they develop. We’re talking an extremely rare group of players that includes Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Jason Kidd, Rajon Rondo, Ricky Rubio, Nikola Jokic, and Steve Nash. Even without having played in one official game, we can add Miloš to that list of rare players with that passing reflex. We’re excited to see what he pulls out of his hat this season.
