Liz Cambage breaks WNBA single game scoring record with 53 points

Liz Cambage, the 6-8 center for the Dallas Wings, went off against the New York Liberty. She set a new WNBA single-game record by scoring 53 points. The 26-year old Australian scored more than half her teams points in the Wings 104-87 win. Her 53 points is two more points by unheralded Riquna Williams who scored 51 points in 2013, and five more points than the 48 points scored by WNBA great Maya Moore. Cambage shot an efficient 17-for-22 including 4 three pointers and was 15-for-16 on free throws. The young pivot pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked five shots in the WNBA record-setting performance.
