Clint Capela is a 21-year-old prospect from Switzerland that can play both the PF and C positions. He spent most of the 2014/2015 season in the D-League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers before being recalled by the Houston Rockets as the NBA season was coming to its end.

Although coach Kevin McHale added Capela to the roster mostly because of the season ending injury of Donatas Motiejunas, the young Swiss rookie has proven to be a significant asset in Houston’s rotation, especially in the series against the Los Angeles Clippers.

.

It’s strange how nobody’s talking about the terrific numbers Capela had in the D-League where he was voted for the All-Defensive team after finishing the season with an average of 16 points, 9.7 rebounds/4 offensive, 3 blocks, 60% FG% and less than 2 turnovers per game in only 24 minutes of action.

With his play against the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors he showed that not only he’s an intelligent player on both ends of the floor, but he’s able to guard players like Chris Paul and Steph Curry after taking over on the high pick and roll. Do you know how valuable in the NBA is to have a 6’10” big guy who can guard the top two point guards in the league above the three point line day in and day out? It’s almost priceless.
