How Much is Cooper Flagg Worth? Flagg’s Net Worth, NIL Deals and Endorsements (2024)

Cooper Flagg’s journey to becoming a household name in basketball has been fueled by his incredible talent and the current sports landscape, especially in the realm of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights.

At just 17 years old, Flagg has already positioned himself to capitalize on his immense marketability before even playing a college basketball game. Flagg’s potential earnings in his first year at Duke and in the NBA have become a point of discussion as he emerges as the favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. This article explores how much Cooper Flagg is currently worth through NIL deals and what he stands to earn in his first few years in the NBA.

Flagg’s NIL Earnings and Early Endorsements

Thanks to the 2021 Supreme Court ruling that allows college athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness, Flagg has the opportunity to earn significant amounts even before stepping foot in the NBA. According to On3.com, Flagg is projected to earn $1.4 million in NIL money during his freshman year at Duke. However, this projection is not set in stone. As Sean Hughes, CEO of Athliance, mentioned, “It’s usually coming in at less [than what athletes actually earn],” but Flagg’s potential to exceed these numbers is very real.

“People are betting on the future. I think that’s why we’re seeing his number so high,” said Hughes. “They’re betting that he’s going to be the next big thing at Duke. He’s got a strong social presence already, he’s got all the tools. He’s got everything lined up for him. If he can just execute, he will definitely make, and probably far exceed, that $1.4 million over the next year.”

Flagg has already signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of the premier talent agencies representing top-tier athletes, including NBA stars like Paul George and Zion Williamson. This partnership will likely position Flagg for lucrative deals with major brands. His mother, Kelly Flagg, has confirmed that they have been in discussions with various companies throughout the year. While specific deals have yet to be announced, Flagg’s NIL endorsements could include partnerships with major athletic brands, such as New Balance, which already has strong ties with the Northeast.

Flagg’s Earning Potential in the NBA

Flagg’s projected earnings are not limited to his NIL deals. Once he enters the NBA, his financial prospects grow exponentially. If selected as the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft – as he is projected by www.promoguy.us –  Flagg could sign a rookie-scale contract worth approximately $50 million over four years, based on the current NBA pay structure for No. 1 picks.

Keep in mind that this  estimate does not include the endorsement deals he will sign once he moves into the NBA. Those deals may dwarf his salary..

Kennyhertz Perry attorney Mit Winter, who specializes in NIL law, suggests that Flagg could earn well over $2 million while at Duke, thanks to his endorsement deals and roster value. “He could easily be approaching $2 million,” Winter noted. “It’s rare for a college freshman to have the potential to do those types of brand deals. … But Cooper Flagg’s unique.”

Cooper Flagg’s Long-Term Financial Outlook

What makes Flagg’s financial outlook particularly exciting is the combination of his basketball talent, marketing potential, and the massive visibility that comes with playing at Duke. According to sports business expert Patrick White, “In my opinion, the kid could make a couple million dollars a year. Just being at Duke, being the talent that he is. … He absolutely could earn a couple million dollars a year.”

In terms of endorsement deals, Flagg is likely to attract attention from big-name brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Gatorade. The demand for his signature and brand representation is expected to skyrocket, especially once he declares for the NBA Draft. As White points out, “One hundred percent, he’ll be a blue-chip brand. CAA probably already has those lined up or has had discussions.”

Flagg is Basically Set For Life

As long as he doesn’t get injured anytime soon, Cooper Flagg’s future, both on and off the court, looks incredibly bright and fruitful. At just 17 years old, he is already making millions of dollars thanks to NIL deals projected to earn him at least $1.4 million.

HIs mother Kelly has the money potential and has taken time to adjust to. “It definitely feels surreal and at times a little overwhelming,” she told The Portland Press Herald. “At the end of the day, we are looking for a balance between maximizing his earning potential and keeping his focus where it belongs, on basketball.”

Even so, Kelly, his brother Ace, and the rest of his immediate family will be taken care of for a very long time – if Cooper chooses to spread his wealth

His earning potential could easily surpass that figure, as these are just early numbers before he even puts on a Duke Blue Devil jersey. This is especially as he continues to perform at a high level and maintains his ranking as the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Many companies will want to get a piece of Flagg. From rookie contracts to significant endorsement deals with top-tier brands. Flagg is not just the next big thing in basketball —he is set to become a major force in the sports business world.
