There is no doubt that Caitlin Clark has had an impressive debut season in the WNBA. Coming out of Iowa as with the most-hype ever for a women’s college basketball player, her rookie season with the Indiana Fever didn’t disappoint. Caitlin’s ability to score, distribute, and lead her team helped the Fever secure their first postseason appearance since 2016.
Along the way, Clark set multiple WNBA records — rookie records, franchise records and WNBA all-time records — solidifying her status as the up and coming superstar in the league. Clark’s rookie season has had one of the most impactful in WNBA history both on and off the court. Here’s a breakdown of the major WNBA categories in which Clark left her mark
Clark Dominates Assist Category in First Year
If there was one category that Clark dominated, it was passing. Clark owned the assists category in her first season.
That was already clear going into the matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces on September 13th.
Earlier in the season, Clark had set the Fever’s franchise record for most assists in the game with 13 *1 then set the most assists in a single game in WNBA history with 19 in a loss to the Dallas Wings *2, she was the fastest player to achieve 200 assists (26 games)*3, and tied the record for most assists in a single half (11)*4.
At the outset of the game vs. the Aces, she was on pace to break another long standing record. The Indiana Fever were the clear underdogs as they entered the game against the defending champions with their odds of winning standing at +123 at various online sportsbooks—many of which are now offering modern ways to bet by using cryptocurrency.
Clark would go on to set a new WNBA single-season assists record in that game against Las Vegas, when she logged her 317th assist of the season *5. This achievement broke the previous record held by Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun, which was set in 2023.
Crypto Betting LTD says multiple currencies can be used at such sites, while they include a wealth of other features like anonymous betting, a wider variety of odds for specialized sports like Women’s basketball, and enhanced security. While not all states provide for legal online sports betting, offshore crypto betting sites are becoming highly popular among sports enthusiasts and can be accessed by players from any state. Such platforms commonly offer better options to wager on the underdogs, as well.
On top of that Clark also led the league in assists during the regular season with 8.4 assists a game*6. She also holds the WNBA All-Star game rookie record for assists in the game with 10 *7.
Caitlin Clark Struggled Early, But Found Her Scoring Touch
A rookie Clark struggled early on in her WNBA career not just due to the intense attention and focus she received, but adapting to the speed, intelligence and physicality of the WNBA. That said, Clark eventually figured out new ways to get her shot off. Even with the early shooting problems, she became the fastest player to reach the 100 point milestone in WNBA history*8. Clark also set the Indiana Fever franchise record for most 25-plus-point games in a single season *9, and most 30-plus-point games for a Fever rookie *10. Proving that Clark was adapting the WNBA’s pace and defense, she scored a career high 35 points *11 at the end of the season against the Dallas Wings. That game on September 15th also set the single season scoring record for a WNBA rookie *12 surpassing Hall of Famer Seimone Augustus *13.
She was also very dependable at the free-throw line; shooting over 90% from the stripe (.9056) *14 which was good for second in free throw shooting percentage to Arike Ogunbowale (.9211) *15. Clark was also the first WNBA rookie to score over 500 points along with 200 assists and 150 rebounds in their inaugural season *16.
Caitlin Clark’s Smashes Three-Point Records
Caitlin Clark’s deep shooting prowess was undeniable coming in the league and she lived up to that reputation her first year. Clark first set the Fever franchise single-game in three-point field goals by a rookie with seven threes *17.
She then shattered the franchise rookie record for three-pointers made. Her 122 threes *18 was a record for a player in their first season and is good for second all-time in WNBA history for most three-pointers in a single season *19. She set the Fever rookie record for most consecutive games with at least one three-pointer *20 and established herself as one of the league’s most consistent shooters by holding the second-most single-season three-pointers made in WNBA history *21 right behind Sabrina Ionescu’s record season in 2023 *22.
Caitlin Clark Records First WNBA Rookie Triple-Double
Not only did Clark record the first triple-double in Indiana Fever history *23 (a franchise that featured Tamika Catchings mind you), but she was the first rookie to ever achieve a triple double in WNBA history *24. Clark messed around and got a triple double a second time just for good measure *25. Ms. Clark also became the first rookie in WNBA history to record multiple games with 20+ points, 10+ assists, and five three-pointers *26.
She was also the rookie in WNBA History with 20-plus points and 10-plus assists in multiple games *27.
One of the Most Impactful Rookie Seasons All-Time
It’s hard to think of another WNBA rookie that have had as great a season as Clark has had. The most notable rookie season is Candace Parker’s first season when Parker won both the Rookie of the Year *28, but was also named league MVP*29.
Beyond scoring and assists, Clark had other notable accomplishments off the court.
Anywhere that Caitlin Clark played, she helped contribute to WNBA ticket *30 and attendance records *31. She and Angel Reese contributed to record All-Star voting turnout *32 – increasing voting and interest in the midseason game by 700% 33*. And to no one’s surprise, Clark has this season’s best-selling jersey *34 .

With such a historic debut, Clark’s career trajectory promises even more records, awards, accolades and milestones in the future.
