Against the New York Knicks, Carlos Boozer had the worst stretch of consecutive plays in the history of the NBA I had ever witnessed. His play alone should trigger an investigation into whether the Lakers are tanking the season – seriously, it was that bad.
In the stretch of three minutes, he was involved in almost every Laker offensive play and laid the biggest egg. After hitting a couple jumpshots, Boozer goes downhill from the 8:44 mark of the fourth quarter:
8:44 | 87-80 | Carlos Boozer traveling |
8:07 | 90-80 | Carlos Boozer out of bounds lost ball turnover |
7:39 | 90-80 | Cleanthony Early blocks Carlos Boozer ‘s 3-foot jumper |
7:15 | 90-80 | Jabari Brown misses three point jumper |
7:07 | 90-80 | Carlos Boozer shooting foul (Andrea Bargnani draws the foul) |
7:05 | 90-80 | Carlos Boozer defensive rebound |
6:43 | 90-80 | Carlos Boozer misses 15-foot two point shot |
6:41 | 90-80 | Lakers offensive team rebound |
6:41 | 90-80 | Lakers shot clock turnover |
6:22 | 90-80 | Carlos Boozer defensive rebound |
6:05 | 90-80 | Carlos Boozer misses layup |
6:05 | 91-80 | Carlos Boozer technical foul(1st technical foul) |
5:43 | 91-80 | Jordan Hill enters the game for Carlos Boozer |
It’s unbelievable that the Lakers found themselves only four more points in the hole considering that Boozer totally looked like a YMCA rec player. It’s not that he just turned the ball over twice, missed three shots, picked up a personal foul and got a technical foul before being taken out, it’s the way he did it.
Boozer dribbled off his foot. Traveled. Was blocked by a rookie two inches shorter than him. Fouled Andrea Bargnani. Missed a layup and then capped it off by mouthing off the the ref before being taken out of the game. The play-by-play doesn’t do Boozer’s injustice justice.
