Who Gets a Spot in the March Madness Bracket in 2024?
The NCAA Selection Committee will choose 36 teams to go with the 32 teams who earn their conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. That will bring us to a total of 68 teams who earn a spot to March madness. Out of these teams, the four lowest ranked automatic qualifying teams and four lowest at-large teams move along to play in the First Four. These games take place on March 19-20, 2024. The best two days in basketball occur on March 21st-22nd, when we get 16 games on each day as the field of 64 starts March Madness in earnest.
When Do We Find the Final March Madness Brackets?
The NCAA announces the teams who earn spots in the tournament, seeds, and matchups during Selection Sunday. The picks are announced on the CBS Selection Sunday show after the final college conference championship games are over on March 17th, 2024. Then, the rush to fill out our brackets will begin. Most bracket contests will let you turn in your picks up until the first day of the first round. Either way your contest puts out the rules though, it will be a fun time.
