Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook were some of the most exciting players to watch this years, but it seems like there’s no space for both of them in the playoffs.

This became evident couple of weeks ago when the New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder had the same W/L ratio. It all came to the last game of the season and Anthony Davis showcased great leadership leading his team to the win against the San Antonio Spurs with 31 points and 13 rebounds. The Spurs were also playing for a better placement at the conference standings heck they didn’t even rest any of their starters, even Tim Duncan played more than 30 minutes. This only shows that the Pelicans deserved a spot in the Playoffs.

At the same time Russell Westbrook scored 37 points in Minnesota heading against a younger version of him in the likes of Zach LaVine. This was enough for him to secure the scoring title in front of James Harden, but not enough for a playoff spot. Westbrook and Durant will have enough time this summer to think about whether they want to continue their careers in OKC.
