Our July guide and preview of the 2017-2018 NBA Season

The NBA Draft is behind us and the NBA Summer League is in full swing. It’s hard to believe, but we’re inching toward the start of the 2017-2018 NBA season.


Hoop fans are counting down the weeks until the action begins again. Chris Paul joining James Harden. Paul George teaming with Russell Westbrook and the Golden State Warriors are the clear favorites again to take their third title in four years; re-signing Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Andre Iguodola, Zaza Pachulia, Shaun Livingston and David West coming out of retirement for one last season, and lots of new up and coming talent snapping at the veterans heels, it is set to be a good one.

When Does the NBA Pre-Season Begin?

The Preseason kicks off on October 5th and will continue until October 16th and then the regular season will kick off on October 20th and continue until April 11th 2018.

Who are the Players to Look Out For?

There are a few players to keep your eye on this year in the new draft picks, especially if you are going to consider placing a wager or two. Guys like Danilo Gallinari are drawing particular attention as he is a big forward with a super impressive range. Pau Gasol has also sparked interest with this 12.4ppb and 7.8rpg. Another name to watch is Otto Porter with a 13.4ppg and a 6.4rpg after playing with the Wizards. But remember, there will always be a few wildcards of people that you do not expect, coming through to outshine the seasoned pro’s!

What Will They Be Wearing?

Jerseys, of course, but this season, Nike will be the official on-court clothing provider and the Charlotte Hornets will be debuting their Air Jordan apparel which is endorsed by the legend that is Michael Jordan, and a part of Nike. Several teams will be debuting a new uniform and logo this season including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

When it comes to sponsorship, so far, eight different teams have announced their official partners for the 2017-18 season and they are as follows: Boston Celtics- General Electric, Brooklyn Nets- Infor, Cleveland Cavaliers- Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Minnesota Timberwolves- Fitbit, Orlando Magic- The Walt Disney Company, Philadelphia 76ers- StubHub, Sacramento Kings- Blue Diamond Growers, and Utah Jazz- Qualtrics.
