Breaking: Blake Griffin will miss the rest of the 2017 NBA Playoffs

Blake Griffin miss NBA playoffs with season ending injury

The big toe was a big injury, apparently. The Los Angeles Clippers just announced that forward Blake Griffin will miss the remaning NBA playoffs. We came across the news from Yahoo Sports Twitter account.

Griffin left the first half of the game of Game 3 against the Utah Jazz last night after suffering what was said to be a toe injury. There were no updates on Griffin’s status until this morning. Here’s more about what turned out to be a season-ending injury from The Score:

Blake Griffin left the game due to a right big toe injury sustained in the second quarter and never returned. X-rays came back negative, and the Clippers labeled the injury a bruise, but head coach Doc Rivers said after the Game 3 victory that the team would have more news after evaluating the results of a Friday night CAT scan.

This is Grffin’s fourth “major” injury that will cost him to miss a significant amount of games. In the last three seasons, Griffin has been hampered by injuries — in those seasons, he’s played just 67, 35, and 61 games.

Though the Clippers ended up winning last night’s game and even though there are some that believe that the Clippers might be better without him, the announcement definitely takes the air out of the Clippers’ playoff hopes — at least in the long term.
