Russell Westbrook has been unstoppable. The Thunder? Not so much.

In the last two games, Russell Westbrook has scored over 40 points in consecutive games but the problem is that both games ended in a loss for Oklahoma City.

Against Phoenix Suns last night, Westbrook put up a monster statline of 48 Points, 9 assists, and 17 rebounds, but the Thunder ended up losing 118-111 to the Suns.

Prior to that, Westbrook exploded for 45 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in another loss. That loss came at the hand of the Portland Trailblazers 114-109. And though he’s come up short two games in a row on his historic chase for all-time leader in triples doubles in one season, it doesn’t take away from the man’s will and grit to do whatever he can to get the Thunder a win. Westbrook has been unstoppable as of late, but the Thunder as a team has faltered.

So what’s the deal with Oklahoma City? Should we be concerned that Westbrook doesn’t have the help he needs to take the team to the next level? Are these two losses just a hiccup or is there something deeper with the Thunder?

We think it’s the former. With the addition of Taj Gibson and the return of Enes Kanter, the Thunder are finally getting up to full strength. It’ll take time to integrate those guys into the offense, but once they do; it can only serve OKC well.
