Video: Blake Griffin’s Buzzer Beater Shocks Blake Griffin (and Suns 121-120)

Blake Grffin shoots three vs Suns

LOS ANGELES — Blake Griffin fired a three point attempt over the Sun’s P.J. Tucker as the seconds wound down. The shot ricocheted off the front of the rim so hard that it bounced up high in the air before it gently laid itself into the net.

With that, the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Phoenix Suns by one point. Watch the video of Blake Griffin’s buzzer-beating video:

“When I shot it, I thought it was off, short, flat,” Griffin said, “but I got a lucky bounce.”

Not sure if it was lucky or if Griffin was just having one of those nights. The forward may have been shocked by the result, but maybe he shouldn’t have been; Griffin scored a season-high 45 points in leading the Clippers to the 121-120 victory over the Suns on Monday night.

Chris Paul added 20 points and J.J. Redick contributed 17 points. DeAndre Jordan led the team with 14 rebounds. Chris Paul passed off for a team-high 10 assists for Los Angeles.

The Phoenix Suns were led by Eric Bledsoe who notched a triple double against his former team with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 16 assists. Markieff Morris was the second leading scorer for the Suns at 21 points. Eric Bledsoe turned the ball over a team-high 5 times.

The Los Angeles Clippers shot 45.8% from the field while the Suns shot 48.4%. After their exciting win, the Clippers are now 15-5 and the Suns fell to 12-10 after their loss. The game was played at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA in front of 19,060.
