What a difference a year makes.

Last year at this time, Kawhi Leonard was embroiled in a controversial situation with the San Antonio Spurs and the Toronto Raptors were swept out of the playoffs by the Lebron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.

Then that summer, everything changed. In July 2018, the Spurs agreed to trade the disgruntled Leonard to the Toronto Raptors for DeMar DeRozan. Both players thrived for their new teams, but Leonard propelled the Raptors to a 58-24 record and to one of the best teams in the league. If his regular season play didn’t erase all negative perceptions about Leonard (well, outside of San Antonio) then he’s done so by leading Toronto to the franchise’s first NBA Finals appearance.

Kawhi Leonard “NORTH” City Edition Jerseys

Available in Black/Gold, White/Gold or Red/White, you’re probably taken with these Toronto Raptors’s official Nike Earned Edition jerseys. These dope jerseys riff on the team’s popular “We the North” team mantra and first came out in red and black. The Raps were wearing the red version of these jerseys when they won the NBA Championship defeating the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

The white “NORTH” version came later as a collaboration between the Raptors and Drake’s OVO brand. That jersey was a remix of black and red versions and were added to the City Edition alternate jerseys that were released before the 2018-19 season. As of the publication of this post, the authentic Nike City Edition Swingman jerseys are only available direcly from Nike. Alternatively, there are plenty other options online that sell the replica versions of their “WE THE NORTH” jerseys.
