Basketball Jerseys, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, NBA

Which players have NBA’s top selling jerseys from the first half of the 2020-21 NBA season?

At the halfway point of the season, the NBA and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) released the list of the best-selling NBA jerseys for the first half of the 2020-21 NBA season.

Based off official NBAStore.com sales, topping the list again was LeBron James who has had the most-popular jersey the last two seasons. In second was Luka Doncic followed by Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and rounding out the top five was Giannis Antetokounmpo. Here’s the full list.

Top NBA Jerseys for 1st Half of 2020-21 season
Rank Player Team
1 LeBron James Los Angeles Lakers
2 Luka Dončić Dallas Mavericks
3 Kevin Durant Brooklyn Nets
4 Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors
5 Giannis Antetokounmpo Milwaukee Bucks
6 Kyrie Irving Brooklyn Nets
7 Anthony Davis Los Angeles Lakers
8 Jayson Tatum Boston Celtics
9 James Harden Brooklyn Nets
10 Zion Williamson New Orleans Pelicans
11 Jimmy Butler Miami Heat
12 Damian Lillard Portland Trail Blazers
13 Kawhi Leonard LA Clippers
14 Trae Young Atlanta Hawks
15 Russell Westbrook Washington Wizards

Trae Young and Zion Williamson make their first appearance on the list after not making the list last season. Zion Williamson leapt into the top 10 at #10, Young at #14.

The Brooklyn Nets’ had three players in the top ten with Durant (#3), Kyrie Irving at #6 and James Harden coming right before Williamson at #9, but even with three of the most-popular player jerseys, the Brooklyn Nets weren’t able to overcome LeBron’s (and Anthony Davis jersey at #7) popularity as the Nets still came in second in terms of most-popular team merchandize (for the first half of the 2020-21 season).

The Most Popular Team by Merchandise Sales

  1. LA Lakers
  2. Brooklyn Nets
  3. Golden State Warriors
  4. Boston Celtics
  5. Philadelphia 76ers
  6. Miami Heat
  7. Chicago Bulls
  8. Dallas Mavericks
  9. Toronto Raptors
  10. Milwaukee Bucks

Still the #2 ranking was the franchise’s highest position ever on the list.

If LeBron was to remain on the top at the end of the season, he would have three consecutive years of having the most popular jersey. Not only that, but the 36-year old superstar would have a record setting seven seasons with the top selling jersey (2004, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2020) breaking a tie he held with the late Kobe Bryant‘s record of six seasons.
