LeBron, Curry, and Giannis top this season’s best-selling NBA jersey list (2018-19)

We guess it’s no surprise that LeBron James has one of the best-selling jerseys this NBA season.

Thinking about it more though it might be somewhat of a surprise considering how poorly and dysfunctional the Los Angeles Lakers were this season. In any case, in his first season on the West Coast, no doubt Angelenos bought up #23 jerseys in Purple and Gold en masse. LeBron held this spot throughout the NBA season.

Here’s the 15 players that had the top selling NBA jerseys for the 2018-19 season based on official NBAStore.com jersey sales

Best-selling jerseys for 2018-19
Rank Player Team
1 LeBron James Los Angeles Lakers
2 Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors
3 Giannis Antetokounmpo Milwaukee Bucks
4 Kyrie Irving Boston Celtics
5 Joel Embiid Philadelphia 76ers
6 James Harden Houston Rockets
7 Russell Westbrook Oklahoma City Thunder
8 Kevin Durant Golden State Warriors
9 Ben Simmons Philadelphia 76ers
10 Jimmy Butler Philadelphia 76ers
11 Dwyane Wade Miami Heat
12 Paul George Oklahoma City Thunder
13 Luka Doncic Dallas Mavericks
14 Damian Lillard Portland Trailblazers
15 Jayson Tatum Boston Celtics

Considered by many as the G.O.A.T., LeBron broke Golden State’s Steph Curry’s three year hold on the best selling NBA jersey. Including this season, the two superstars have passed the top honor back and forth over the last six seasons.

LeBron was followed on the top-selling list by Curry then Milwaukee’s transcendent MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo came in third. Rounding out the top five was the Boston Celtic’s Kyrie Irving and the Philadelphia Sixer’s Joel Embiid.

As far as which teams had the highest jersey sales, the Lakers definitely benefited from James arrival as well as their popular younger players in Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram. Here’s the final list for the 2018-19 season.

Best selling team product list
1. Los Angeles Lakers
2. Golden State Warriors
3. Boston Celtics
4. Philadelphia 76ers
5. Milwaukee Bucks
6. Chicago Bulls
7. Oklahoma City Thunder
8. Houston Rockets
9. Toronto Raptors
10. New York Knicks

It’s amazing that at LeBron’s relatively advanced age that he’s still selling out jerseys– more than players like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant and James Harden. Unless the Lakers get it together for next season, we think it might be the last season he tops this list. In any case it’s great to see next generation all-stars like Antetokounmpo, Simmons and Embiid on the list and young guns like Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum make the list, too.
