Los Angeles Clippers debut “Old English” Nike City Edition jerseys from Sports Illustrated cover

If you saw the latest cover of Sports Illustrated, the NBA preview issue features Los Angeles Clippers Patrick Beverley, Paul George, Landry Shamet, Kawhi Leonard, Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell on the cover. Not just that, but the team is wearing the team’s new white and black alternate jerseys with the headline “Welcome to the REINVENTION”.

Appropriate on many fronts as these alternate team jerseys are one of the franchise’s new Nike City Edition jerseys where the Old English font featured on the chest of the uniforms is inspired by local artist Mister Cartoon. These new Clipper jerseys didn’t come as a total surprise. From Clipperholics:

We had a feeling the City jersey would be something along these lines after images of the team’s alternate court leaked a month ago. The jersey and court envoke a feeling of toughness, something that this group seems to be really embracing. Some have called the design “Raider-esque” and honestly, I can see where they are coming from

Clipper fans will first see Leonard, PG13, Lou Will and team in these new jerseys on November 22nd when they take on the Houston Rockets at home and then again, on Christmas Day when they take on their inter-city rivals the Los Angeles Lakers.

Check to see if these dope “Los Angeles” in old English font Clipper jerseys are available at the Clippers Team Store.
