Basketball Jerseys, Golden State Warriors, NBA

Are these the Golden State Warrior’s new ‘San Francisco’ jerseys?

It’s safe to say that the Golden State Warriors have gone through a lot of changes. From the NBA Finals to the beginning of the 2019-20 season, the Warriors no longer have the services of Kevin Durant, won’t have Klay Thompson for much of next season and parted ways with Golden State mainstays Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala. Needless to say, the Warriors are no longer the perennial favorites they’ve enjoyed the last several seasons.

New City, New Jerseys

The off season also saw the Warriors officially moving from Oakland, across the bridge, and into San Francisco’s brand new Chase Center. With that, the team most-certainly will have new jerseys to represent their new home. A couple weeks ago, those new ‘San Francisco’ jerseys made have leaked on video game NBA 2k20 screen caps. Now, it looks like we have some legitimate mock ups of the new Warriors San Francisco jerseys in real life. Check them out:

We came across this leak of the new Warriors San Francisco uniforms via Twitter user Etienne Catalan, whom apparently discovered the new Golden State jerseys on the NBA Store Europe.

If these are in fact the new uniforms, these are a play on the classic San Francisco jerseys that the team used to wear back in the day. In you didn’t know, prior to becoming the Golden State Warriors we know and love (and many hate), the team spent ten seasons as the San Francisco Warriors from 1962–1971 where they played at the Cow Palace in Daly City just south of the San Francisco city limits as well as at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium.

Before the 1971-72 season, the team moved to Oakland and have since been located there for nearly 50 years.
