Last month the NBA revealed the league’s top-selling jersey and most-popular team merchandise sales for the 2023-24 season. If you’ve been paying attention to the NBA’s jersey sales over the last decade, you won’t be surprised by a couple names on the list, but there are a few new names in the top ten that will likely stick around for the next several years.

NBA’s Best Selling Jersey for 2023-24

The best-selling NBA jerseys this season feature Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors at the top of the list. Either Curry or LeBron James have the most-popular jersey on the jerseys sales chart for the last eleven years.  Following Curry is Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics and LeBron of the Los Angeles Lakers fell to #3 this year.

First year sensation Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs surged into fourth place well ahead of well-established superstars, highlighting the rookie’s immediate impact. Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks rounded out the top five. Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks came in at sixth on the list. Wembanyama, Antetokounmpo, and Doncic’s presence on the list reflects the NBA’s growing international players.

1. Steph Curry, Warriors

Curry had another exciting season; carrying the up-and-down Golden State Warriors. He was named to his 10th All-Star Game and again led the league in three-pointers made. His dynamic play, insane range, and leadership continue to make him a fan favorite even with Curry in his mid-thirties. This is the fourth time that Curry has led the league in jersey sales – the last time being in 2018.

2. Jayson Tatum, Celtics

Jayson Tatum was instrumental for the league-leading Boston Celtics, earning All-NBA First Team honors and leading his team to a top playoff seed.

3. LeBron James, Lakers

Despite being the oldest player in the league, LeBron continues to maintain elite performance levels and had the third most-popular NBA jersey for the 2023-24 season. That’s impressive until you consider that Lebron has led the league in jersey sales the last five seasons and the last 7 out of the last 10 years. This third place ranking is the lowest position that LeBron has been since 2012 when he was fourth behind Derrick Rose, Jeremy Lin, and Kobe Bryant. The King averaged 25.7 points per game this season.

4. Victor Wembanyama, Spurs

Victor Wembanyama the 7-5 rookie sensation, dazzled the NBA with his impressive skillset and versatility, earning Rookie of the Year honors. His potential and unique talents coupled with his height and athleticism have quickly made him a household name despite having a hard to pronounce surname.

5. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks

Even with a little bit of an off year Giannis Antetokounmpo continued to dominate, earning All-NBA and All-Defensive First Team honors while leading the Bucks to a strong regular season. His relentless style and consistent excellence keep him at the top of the popularity charts.

6. Luka Doncic, Mavericks

Luka Doncic is a basketball savant and he had another remarkable season, leading the league in triple-doubles, being named an NBA All-Star and earning All-NBA first team honors. His playmaking and scoring prowess make him one of the most exciting players to watch. We’re a little surprised that Doncic isn’t higher on this list, maybe it’s his constant whining and complaining?

7. Devin Booker, Suns

Devin Booker was crucial for the Suns, helping them secure a high playoff seed and earning All-NBA honors. His scoring ability and leadership on the court continue to elevate his status.

8. Kevin Durant, Suns

Kevin Durant, despite dealing with injuries, had a significant impact whenever he played, showcasing his scoring efficiency and versatility. His move to the Suns and on-court performances keep fans engaged.

9. Tyrese Maxey, 76ers

Tyrese Maxey had a breakout season, rising to No. 9 in jersey sales and outperforming expectations with his scoring and playmaking. His energy and clutch performances have made him a fan favorite in Philadelphia even in the shadow of his MVP contending teammate Joel Embiid.

Some other notes:

• Jokic Barely Makes Top 15: While Jokic won his third MVP this season and leads the league’s defending champions, he’s not as much of a hit with fans for whatever reason. There’s also a reason he was selected last in the NBA All-Star game.
• International Presence: The top 15 list features five international players, including Wembanyama, Antetokounmpo, Doncic, Embiid, and Jokic, highlighting the global appeal of the NBA.
• Wembanyama Effect The French Alien has quickly become one of the most popular players in the league with his combo of size, speed, shooting, impressive skills and potential.
