Wow, he must be better than Sipahi right?

I am not absolving Fener or Efes or anything. All I'm saying is foreigner limit makes Turkish players complacent, so they don't need to develop unless they have a goal of going to NBA or something.
OR, if Egehan was working hard but this was as good as he could have been, Fener should have sent him away already and take chances on a cheaper, younger player.
That guy is not making any sense as usual, he pretends like as if Efes played final four with their youth system, not with 8 foreign players + Balbay.

He makes drama about Sipahi, then he admits Balbay isn't better than Sipahi, he doesn't even realize Balbay takes more minute than any other Turkish players in Efes. Classic Toruko.

Some really solid signings so for. Will be interesting to see which PG they sign.

        • Oz Blayzer signed with Maccabi for one season. All and any other signings will be supposedly announced next week.

Tamir Blatt signed with Alba, but will be loaned to Jerusalem until next year.

Strong rumors of Pierre Jackson, who'd be an interesting choice.

Losing both Calathes and Jimmer, they need someone who can generate offense. Jackson can definitely do that, but he's a complete liability on defense at his size. PAO has signed some nice defensive role players, though, like Sant-Roos, so they might be able to make it work.

Jimmer ist really not a lose, he cost 1,7mio... 500k would be okay for him :-)

Pierre Jackson could work, but I doubt it. Pao rarely goes for such guards.

To me the top signing of the last week was Demetrius Jackson to Rytas!

                  • Pao will most likely close their roster with Pierre Jackson. Back up Borchidis and Kaselakis, who demanded playing time to stay.
Jackson is a very good choice in view of the facts on what the market has to offer and our budget, which is under 6mio net for players. He knows the euroleague, in fact he had very solide stats with Maccabi.
Sure Jackson is small and not a first pass player but I think you can catch and compensate this with current roster. Last year we had Rice plus Fredette and no defense specialist like Sant-Ross.
Nedovic and Jackson can do a lot of damage offensively.
This year we seem to have little less weaknesses overall. Pao has a completely new face. Excellent work was done in recruiting and implementing the players.
What else needs to be said: Papagiannis has used the summer to workout and is clearly in good shape. I hope he makes a step forward. Papapetrou will be captain and this will give him additional motivation.

All in all, I'm very happy with the result, but it doesn't change my expectation on this new team, as the most competition has mutch higher budget. Can we reach top 8, yes maybe if everyone stays healthy etc.
But it absolutly not the case that we have to expect it this year. A place between 9-12 would be good.

PG : Pierre Jackson, Howard Sand - Ross, George Kalaitzakis.
SG : Nemanja Nedovic, Markus Foster und Lefteris Bohoridis.
SF : Ioannis Papapetrou, Leonidas Kaselakis und Nikos Persidis.
PF : Dinos Mitoglou, Aaron White und Ben Bentil.
C : George Papagiannis, Jacques August.

Jimmer was definitely too expensive for what he was contributing, agreed.

They've had James and Rice in recent years... Sure, they weren't PAO's primary facilitators, but they had Calathes. No Calathes completely changes the dynamic of that club.

Right now, outside of maybe Nedovic, who is more at home off the ball, PAO has a bunch of solid role players and secondary options. They should have enough defense, rebounding, and off-ball shooting to be decent, but they're sorely missing someone who can create offense.

Jackson is a very flawed, albeit fun, player, but if there's a roster right now that could use him, it's PAO. Short of Laprovittola or another NBA option I'm not sure who else they could get.

                            • Well Pierre Jackson is official now.

By the way the Göksenin Köksal of the new generation Ergi Tirpanci of Fenerbahce is gonna to be loaned to Ormanspor. Now after 7 years they are starting to make sensible moves.

                              • Hello all. Not been on the forums since the discontinuation of the EL. Hope you, your families and friends are healthy and safe.

PAO fans are a little pessimistic but if you take the budget which has been slashed 60%, I think Management and coach have done a decent job recruiting EL level players. 7th-8th spot would be great but i'm expecting 10th+.
