I don't rate this Brazilian team very high. The prevalence of the players with small basketball IQ must seriously diminish their chances in any major international basketball tournament aside from their local Latin American skirmishes (and even in them they are still beaten by Argentinians whose average age is somewhere near the Christ's age). Look: Leandrinho, Nene, Varejao, and to the lesser degree Splitter and Alex Garcia - they are all too brainless and egoistic to make a good team. Athletically they're one of the toughest 'cause their guards are extremely fast, their bigs are extremely big and strong but I hope it's still not enough to be an elite team in international basketball if you're not the 'one and only' US NT.2013/2014 IBN Euroleague Prediction Game Winner

The biggest question for me about this brasil team : do they have balls and character in playoof stage ?...they gona meet strong opponent in 1/4 between Argentina/Lithuania/France im not sure they will be able to beat those teams that have proven themselfs in playoofs...All other looks scary about this brasil team...

Even though Brazil has more depth than previous years, we don't how they'll play together. Nene has tendencies of disappearing when you need him the most. Not to mention, he has injury problems. Varejao hasn't been relevant since Lebron was in Cleveland. He may not even be that good of a player now. And you should always be cautious of a team that is led by Barbosa. Look at 2010 WC.......
All I know is that we shouldn't have high expectations for Brazil until they actually play together in meaningful games.

Brazil has always been disappointing in the past but I rate the Magnano factor highly. At the last WC their three losses were by a total of nine points and they were good at the FIBA-Americas last year with no Barbosa/Varejao/Nene and a not full-strength Splitter. They can certainly finish second or third in their group.
Plus Marchelinho Marchado plays the toughest defense in the tournament. How are you going to get open against this?

Finally all the top players are together in one team. Best Brazil NT ever for sure. On paper they're in for a medal.
