RIO DE JANEIRO (LNB) - Flamengo are in a rich vein of form heading into the Liga Sudamericana.
The competition tips off on February 17 and Flamengo, who lost out to Universo/BRB in their battle to reach the FIBA Americas League Final Four, have rebounded to win all four of their top flight games in Brazil.
In Sao Paulo, meanwhile, Lupo/Araraquara claimed their first victory by defeating Universo 77-64.
Fresh off their FIBA Americas League title triumph over Halcones Xalapa, Universo battled hard and went to half-time with the game knotted at 37-37 but Lula Ferreira’s team then ran out of steam.
Araraquara outscored Universo 18-8 and went on to claim a decisive triumph.
Neto, Luisinho and Arnaldinho each had 15 points for the team from Sao Paulo.
For Universo, who suffered their first setback of the campaign, Arthur had 13 points and Estevam Ferreira 10.
