From what i saw from Ricky Soliver in nancy, he is far from having the level at the point. I would even prefer him Ricardo or Jeff Greer for that place even if both of them are not made for that place.
    It's a bird? It's a plane? No, it's Rudy!

Risky soliver is more of a combo guard Stephon Mabury-like type of player That is a point guard but has as a first option himself, and the to pass the ball as seconed option.

He reminds me of The tiny guy from puerto rico that won the MVP in the centrobasket

and I don't think Neirther Ricky or Jeff or has a spot as a point in this team, because the team scares of SF and REAL SG, and besides, with sammy mejia who is a 6'6 point guard wiht a lot of talent that got a chance to play in the nba, The won be neede it there, the point is to crowded with Ronald raon a 3-pointer specialist, DAMIEN MCSWINE the dominican league MVP a guy who despite his age ih very experienced and maybe even edgar sosa
could made the team and with luis flores being the sixth man of the team, he'll be playing the point at times.

It's waaaaaaaaaay too early to think about Argentinean team. First of all, we have no coach since Hernández's contract is over, and his replacement won't be decided until next year. Second of all, it's a mystery how many of its NBA players will be available for it (Ginóbili and Oberto surely won't). And third, Argentina would surely get a FIBA invitation for the World Championship if they don't qualify (like Puerto Rico in 2006), so that may induce a not-so powerful lineup for this event, without most of the big names.

          I can think of these:

          PG
          ¿Pablo Prigioni?
          Antonio Porta
          Luis Cequeira
          Maximiliano Stanic
          Nicolás Gianella

          SG
          ¿Carlos Delfino?
          Paolo Quinteros
          Javier Bulfoni
          Julio Mázzaro
          Diego García
          Matías Lescano

          SF
          ¿Andrés Nocioni?
          ¿Walter Herrmann?
          Hernán Jasen
          Roberto Gabini
          Federico Kammerichs
          Matías Sandes
          Marcos Mata

          PF
          ¿Luis Scola?
          Leonardo Mainoldi
          Leonardo Gutiérrez
          Diego Lo Grippo
          Diego Guaita
          Fabricio Vay

          C
          Román González
          Juan Pedro Gutiérrez
          ¿Robert Battle?
          Damián Tintorelli
          Pedro Calderón

The only thing I don't like about the Canadian team (I mean beside they are automatically of course) is the fact that they have way to many players that were'n born there who don't even canadian decendence. Like Dalembert, Mendez (this guy by the way is one of the most hated in the dominican along with A-RoD or like we call him now MADONA) Majlorie, and I think that English Too(not sure 'bout this one, I'm just sayin'), and of course Nash. I mean I'm not trying to offend you or anythin' like that but I do think FIBA should regulate that in a better way.

Now, if Canada ca gather at the same tournamnet the second list of player that include
              Sam Dalembert
              Juan Mendez
              Denham Brown
              Dave Thomas
              Rowan Barret
              Jamaal Majlorie
              STEVE NASH
along with Carl English that team Is going to be an unstoppable Gigant teamfor sure that could compete with Argentina(at least a B-level team) brazil and puerto rico and maybe even lose for less that a 20 lead by th USA.

As far as I knew Mendez was raised in Montreal as was Dalembert. Maglorie was raised in Toronto and even has his name on a walk of fame here. Nash was raised in Canada and English was born and raised in Canada, he just has an accent because hes from the province of Newfoundland lol.

Heck a lot of players from Puerto Rico were born and raised in the U.S as were many other players that play for South American nations.

Canada's real problem is that they don't have the right people in place to organize the talent we have into one cohesive team. Hopefully that will change in the future. (European coach )

With Puertorican parents. How many of those that were just mentioned have Canadian parents or even grandparents?

Why should that matter if they were raised in Canada? I wasn't being critical of any other country I was just stating that its common for people to be raised in one country and play for the country they feel they should represent or in the country where they first started playing basketball. I think its great that players raised in the U.S or whatever will go back and play for the country they feel they should represent. This is the case for many African teams as well.

The only thing I don't really like is the situations where a player will play for a country as an import when they have no ties to that country what so ever, I can only over look it when the less competitive countries do it. (ie. Georgia, Bosnia, Japan)
