    1st- Brazil
    2nd-Puerto Rico
    3rd- Argentina
4th- is going to be a dogfight between najera, watson's Mejico v. hortfort, villanueva, garcia Dominicana
Man perucho, you must be on drugs.

    Heres a more credible list

    1st- Panama
    2nd- Virgin Islands
    3rd- Uruguay
    4rd- Canada

      Quarters: 27-20, 42-30, 56-51.

The match also served as a retirement ceremony for Hugo Sconochini, who is retiring from pro basketball at age 38. He played five minues, hit a three, grabbed a rebound and stole a ball. Pretty good.

      Earlier:

      BRASIL 74-AUSTRALIA 71

Brasil (74): Fúlvio Assis 7, Fernando Penna 2, Eduardo Oliveira 0, Jonathan Tavernari 17, Guilherme Teichman 5, Rafael de Sousa 0, Bruno Fiorotto 22, Luiz Ribeiro 8, Daniel Zimer 8, Betinho 5.

      Australia (71):
Matthew Dellavedova 0, Adam Gibson 10, Joseph Ingles 8, Matt Burston 6, Peter Crawford 5, David Barlow 13, Aaron Baynes 10, Luke Nevill 7, Nathan Jawai 12.

      Quarters: 15-14, 34-36, 52-59.

Of couse, this is not Brazil's true team. The Brazilian Federation decided it wouldn't send its stars to Rosario, allegedly because of the swine flu situation.

                    • Dominican Republic ready for warm up series against Puerto Rico

DOM - Dominican Republic ready for warm up series against Puerto Rico:

                      8/14/2009

PUERTO PLATA (2009 FIBA Americas Championship) - Dominican Republic is ready for their warm up series against Puerto Rico on Friday and Saturday in Puerto Plata as both teams prepare for the FIBA Americas Championship. NBA stars Al Horford, Francisco García and Charlie Villanueva will be together and play in those games.

The Dominicans will probably have their best team in history as they will play in the FIBA Americas Championship to be played at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Francisco Garcia was the first player who reported to the national team and this week Horford and Villanueva entered. The warm up games are at polideportivo Fabio Rafael Gonzalez on Friday and Saturday.

Franklin Western, Ricardo and Jeff Greer, Kelvin Peña, Luis Flores, Juan Coronado, Carlos Morbán, Joel Ramírez, Santos Sartínez, Marlon Martínez, Jack Michael Martínez, Alejandro Salas and John García.

It is expected that center Josh Asselin reports to the team as soon as he signs overseas. Asselin made his debut in the 2005 FIBA Americas Championship, which was also a FIBA World Championship qualifier.

The Dominican Republic is in Group B along with Argentina, Brazil, Panama and Venezuela

The team is coached by Puerto Rican Julio Toro.

talk about a guy who misses golden chances in life.
you leave the world champion lakers to end up in a yao less team who is fighting for the 8th spot in the nba playoffs
second- whats not attractive about quiskeya national team. there young players in their prime, very athletic, 3 other nba players to share responsability with, best coach in latin america, julio toro, the tournament is played close to hometown so there will be a lot of dominican fans to support the team.
third- if you play for the ee.uu you are guaranteed a medal
where is waldo? i thought he played great in the nba finals and i like his play but didnt he commit to playing for both teams and ended up playing for neither.
