"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Gen Z is getting taller!
Although in my city I don't see any 6'4"+ 14yr olds right now but there are a bunch of young teens that are 5'10"-6'0" that'll grow to at least 6'2"-6'4" and hopefully higher.
A far cry from my high school days when you'd see just a few kids that were even 6'0"!Click the link to check us out -> REFRESH Basketball "Inspiring youth with our love of the game. Elite Filipino-Canadian teams based in Manitoba, Canada."

If you look at the size and mobility of u17, u16 and younger boys, it looks like the 2025 senior nt will look even more impressive than the expected 2023 team. The crucial aspect of having a very competitive international team with only four pba veterans for stability becomes real in 2025. The reduction in the use of pba vets is not to demean pba capabilities, but to ensure that a very good pool is always available for all fiba games and asian-level tourneys regardless of the dense pba schedules.
The next stage, maybe 2030, we will be seeing our u19 boys at 80 to 90 percent capability of local pros. This will not only boost the stables of the pba and say mpbl, but also helps ensure the ingredients of a world top20 pinoy team are easily available. But televising at prime times the games of u16/17 and u18/19 is more inportant, because seeing all those young pinoy bigs moving well like pros and shooting heavily impacts the athletic aggresiveness in the play of younger tall kids. The pba cant have this impact as expectedly they will still employ a lot of undersized players.
Hopefully, most of the posters here are still very much alive to see that good day.Last edited by ccharmed; 06-18-2019, 01:09 PM.
