    Edu Marianno- 22 years-old- 6'6''(1,97)-SG Team: Uniara
Edu has improved a lot. He always was a kid with a lot of potential, but I never imagined that he could play this well so soon. He is a a very athletic player, who is a very good scorer. He is a good defender and is very fast.
Comparation: Oscar Torres(maybe better in 3 years).

    Edu 33pts 12boards 5asts 4steals

    André(Dedé) Martins- 20 years-old- 6'6''(1,97)- SG/SF Team: Uniara
Dedé always played for the brazilian national team(U-21, U-17). He is not in the same level of his teammate Edu, but he has a lot of talent. Dedé is a very good ballhander, good passer, good offensive player, but he has to improve his defense.
    Comparation:Gordon Giricek

    Some stats thie season
    Win versus Jundiaí
    Dedé 20pts 8boards 1steal
    loss versus Keltek

    Alexandre Nascimento(Olivinha)- 23 years-old- 6'9''(2,06)- PF/SF team: Telemar
Olivinha is a good player. He has been playing pro basketball since he was 18. He is a very good shooter(3pts and 2pts), he has good offensive moves and play an average defense. Can play 3 and 4

Jonathan dos Santos- 18yeards-old-6'7''(2,00)- SG/SF Team: Paulistano
I had just saw him playing twice, but he seems to be a very, very good prospect. The kid is tall for his position(SG), he is very athletic and has very good skills. He is a very good dunker and a good shooter.

Murilo Rosa- 22years-old- 6'10''(2,08)-PF team: Franca
With all the injuries that Brazil had to deal in the last WC Qualifying championship, Murilo was on the roster that played the championship last year, and with Anderson Varejão's injury during the championship, Murilo was a starter on the team that won the championship. He is a very good offensive player and a good rebounder. His defense is not very good yet but he has improved it a lot since I first saw him playing.
Comparation: Luis Scola( not nearly as good as Scola, but their games are very similar)

    Some stats:

    Lucas Tischer- 22yeards-old- 6'10''(2,08)-PF/C Team: Uberlândia/Telemig
Lucas played the summer league for the Suns this season and they liked him. The Suns signed him and let he play here in Brazil. Lucas is playing for probably the best team in Latin America, so his playing time is not what he probably was expecting. Lucas is very strong, he is a good defender and rebounder. His offensive game is very raw and he is working on it. I saw him playing last night and he played very well.
    Comparation: Ben Wallace

    Some stats
    loss verus Ajax
    Lucas 15pts 9boards 2blocks 4steals

I saw him playing 3 times. He is fast, he is a very good shooter and he understand the game. His defense is good, but he is very inconsistent yet.
    Comparation: Alain Digbeu

    win versus Pinheiros
    Douglas 13pts 6boards 4steals
    loss versus Franca
    Douglas 15pts 4boards 1steal

    Paulo Prestes- 17years-old- 6'10''(2,09)- C/PF Team:R.Preto/COC

Paulo is a very strong kid. He is already starting some games for R.Preto(semifinalist of the south-american league and one of the best brazilian teams). He is a good defender and rebounder. His offensive skills are good for his age.Paulo is going to be a very, very good player in the future. Amazing prospect.

    Paulo 15pts 8boards

    Jefferson Antônio- 22years-old 6'10''(2,09) SF/PF Team: R.Preto/COC
Another player that was part of the brazilian national team last year.Jefferson was called for the brazilian national team because of his size for his position. He is a good shooter, he can play inside and outside and his defense has improved since he signed with R.Preto.
    Comparation: Jared Jeffries

Nene, Varejao, Araujo, Splitter, Lucas Tischer, Paulo Prestes, Vitor Tatsh, Caio Torres, Rafael Hettsheimer, Bruno Ferreira, Thyago Alao, etc. Amazing

Do you think Paulo Prestes would benefit like J.P. Batista did by playing college basketball in the United States and go NBA from there? Is Paulo a pro now, or is he still amateur?

Every player should go to the US if they have the chance, IMHO...

Great list ¹²³. I think the top three have the most chances right now of becoming good dominant players. Prestes is a monster on court, I wonder if Monsalve will start calling him up to the senior team.

Great stuff. Brazil just have to develop some backcourt talent now.

Edit: Vitor Faverani also scored 16 points in 17 minutes in the same game.

Centre Rafael Hettsheimeir, 23, was named MVP of Spanish ACB's round 13. He scored 23 points (8/10 FG, 7/10 FT), grabbed 11 rebounds, dished 2 assists, stole one ball and blocked a shot for Obradoiro against Gran Canaria. His team lost.

And I think I know the reason why there is all this great front-court talents coming from Brazil. Usually they are easy to spot (the kids are really tall and that's what european clubs and american universities are searching around here). They usually head to Europe or USA at a very young age and there they can get proper training and a good environment to develop their talents and focusing on playing basketball. The back-court talents are harder to notice and the majority keeps playing in Brazil were the structure and the trainings aren't in the same level as Europe or USA.
