        Team USA (Dream Team VII)

USA Basketball announced that Lamar Odom and Paul Pierce would miss training camp later this month. Another player, J.J. Redick, had recently said he wouldn't take part when camp opens in Las Vegas on July 19 because he has been out with a back injury.

        ---------------------------------------------------
Here is now the 25 man roster with the addition of Oden!!

        Carmelo Anthony
        Gilbert Arenas
        Shane Battier
        Chauncey Billups
        Chris Bosh
        Bruce Bowen
        Elton Brand
        Kobe Bryant
        Kirk Hinrich
        Dwight Howard
        LeBron James
        Antawn Jamison
        Joe Johnson
        Shawn Marion
        Brad Miller
        Adam Morrison
        Greg Oden
        Lamar Odom
        Chris Paul
        Paul Pierce
        J.J. Redick
        Michael Redd
        Luke Ridnour
        Amare Stoudemire
        Dwyane Wade

On this list, here are the ones that won’t be participating in practice in Las Vegas which means they won’t be going to Japan.

        Chauncey Billups-------Having a child!!
Greg Oden-------------Invited to Las Vegas but will not be participating
Lamar Odom-----------6 Month old son died last month
        Paul Pierce------------Surgery on Elbow
        J. J. Reddick-----------Bad Back
        Michael Redd----------Getting Married

So now it looks like there are going to be 19 players participating in Las Vegas beginning in less than a week on July 19th!!!!

        Nonetheless here is my team!!!

        1
        Chris Paul
        Gilbert Arenas

        2
        Dwyane Wade
        Kobe Bryant

        3
        LeBron James
        Shane Battier
        Bruce Bowen

        4
        Antawn Jamison
        Shawn Marion
        Elton Brand

        5
        Amare Stoudemire
        Chris Bosh

3 Alternates that go to Japan but would be inactive unless someone gets injuried!!!
        1. Kirk Hinrich
        2. Carmelo Anthony
        3. Brad Miller

Thats not necessarily bad for the Americans, is it?

Strange, but I am not happy about that...
I was very curiuos to see how Kobe is playing international ball, and if his game would be positive or negative for the whole team.

Kobe was afraid he would be a back-up to Wade and LeBron.

Actually, I believe it helps the US. This team has enough high profile scorers (although his defense might be sorely missed) and playmakers. They need guys that can gel into a single-unit team, not have individuals taking 20-30 shots per game. That's just not the FIBA game.

I think was happened is that Coach K told him that he might have to share minutes with Wade and LeBron and Kobe decided to leave the team to avoid what he considers an embarassment.

Yeah Dream Team 1 was great. But I still love Dream Team 2 the best...Back when Shaq would average 10 dunks per game and where Reggie and Majerle would hit 3's a couple of feet after the half court line...

I know a lil over exaggerating but almost I wish they made those games on DVD or could find them online...I used to have all the games recorded on VHS but dont have it anymore
