I agree. He seems to have a pretty good touch, and the signs of improvement is indeed there in comparison to some videos posted from his first year. I hope that he keeps on working towards his improvement.

I'm not sure how old this kid is, but he can certainly play in the under-21 or young men's team if we intend to form one.

Cool!!! I hope that SBP would be keen on forming an under-21 team.

-yeah he can only benefit from practicing with the RP team. we should start exposing our big men to playing against bigger and tougher competition. just like how the rp youth team practiced against the PBL, they should be invited to practice with the rp nt.
-imagine GS, JF, or Guzman (I hear he's back) vs. Taulava. then if they can outplay him, that definitely indicates a bright future for the RP NT

What school will DE Guzman will play? GS and other prospect big man as a reserve role for RP team might be good for them at 1st. it will benefit them on the long run.

JDG is currently in SSC, or is planning to go there.
There is no RP team yet, and if you have been following the RP Team, they make one per tournament, so i dont know if you can actually put those guys "as a reserve role". if a NT is formed, they can joined scrimmages. this is under the assumption that their schools allow them.

he's showing low post moves and fade away jumpers.
the dunk in the 2nd video was huge. i haven't seen GS did some of those tricks in his 1st year at UV. he showed a lot of tremendous improvement.

But you have to look at the competition he is up against. Hes posting up someone a good 6 inches shorter. He shouldn't have to fade away. Its like I said in the kiefer Ravena thread, players like Greg need to go abroad to fulfill there potential cause the competition in the Philippines is just not good enough. In the Juniors, Philippines can compete on a world level, but when you get to college level becomes stagnant. If Philippines have any aspirations of competing on a world level the players need to compete against players that are of world standard. Adam Parada comes to PBA and dominates but he is realistically not a world class player. The only reason he did good in the PBA is because the competition is smaller.

right now, maybe you are right that GS would not fare good against these tested veterans but give him 4-5 years and assess the kid again..

my point is not to discredit GS, (i'm sorry if it sounded that way) but i'm saying that he needs taller and better competition. there are no 7 footers in college, or many guys with the length and athletic ability of japeth aguilar, or the strength and heft of taulava in college. so if he doesn't get exposure to those type of opponents, he will not fare so well internationally. that's why he should be allowed to practice with the rp nt, because taulava is our best big men right now and that experience will pay dividends down the road for GS

This is like my first message when i first got here..I think that he should be given some attention by our officials..call it unfair but it's not everyday you'll get to see that kid with that kind of height in the Philippines. If I was a senator I would spend some portion of my pork barrel on him try to get him trained on big men camps in Europe or Australia During the off Season..locally,I'd get him to a weights program with a physical trainer and a dietrician or even get him to train with a local professional ball club.I could tell that he has improved his skills so far after seeing him in manila last year.
