[Afrobasket 2013] – Mbah a Moute (CMR) : " I'll be present with the national team"
Absent in 2009 and 2011, the forward of Milwaukee Bucks, Luc Mbah a Moute let know that he would like to play Afrobasket 2013 with the Cameroon team.
Author of a good season NBA despite the elimination in the first round of play-offs by Miami Heat, Mbah a Moute aim for new challenge: the Afrobasket 2013.
" I was contacted by the Federation a few months ago I still wait for answers, mainly about the insurances. But as a rule so everything goes well with my health, I'll be present with the national team this summer. "
About the group of Cameroon, he said: " I think that it is a very difficult pool. In my opinion, it is the most difficult pool of the tournament. All the teams have capacities to finish first or second of the group. From the point of view of the prize list, concerning the potential and of the roster, Cameroon and Nigeria are favourites. But the most important for us, it will be to finish first to avoid a team coming from Angola’s group."
It is moreover against this Angolan team that Luc Mbah has Moute and his teamates had been defeated (86-72), in finale of his only one Afrobasket in 2007. " For me, that was a great experience. I always wanted to relive that.. " But, unfortunately some contractual situations or injuries prevent me . [] I like representing my country, I like participating in the tournament as player NBA, I like helping in the development of the basketball in Africa ".
Mbah has Moute will be a key player for the Cameroon.

Mbah a Moute has started practicing along with the rest of the Cameroonian guys. He is going to play in the Afrobasket.
This is a photo from the training camp (a Moute, Happi, Nzeulie, Sibetcheu)
No Parfait Bitee, Nana Harding, Joachim Ekanga-Ehawa, Kenny Kadji and Steve Tchiengang who had been called.
Tchiengang has declined the invitation and Nana is recovering from a serious injury, I think he broke his leg in April.
I have no idea why Bitee is not with the team though...
But even without him, Cameroon doesn't have any PG issues. They are fine with Curti and Nzeulie.
As for Kadji, he is flying to Cameroon next week. They are rumors that he might join the squad. It will be a great addition for Cameroon if it happens...
Results of preparation games in China:

Now it's been confirmed. Kadji is going to play! Without a doubt, Cameroon will be a strong contender for gold medal...
