Yes, 6 months starting from October (basically the start of the italian Lega A championship)... he can play in the Euroleague though.

will Milano let him go?

No, he has accepted a decurted salary and remains in Milano.

Basically he felt he was injured and cannot play while italian doctors said otherwise... he claimed a special treatment was reserved to other players (probably he was referring to NBA players like Belinelli who is not injured but opted to miss these qualification in accord with the coach)... he should have waited for the come back of Pianigiani (those days the team was playing the tournament in Sarajevo while Hackett was in Trieste) and explained his reasons directly to him... but we all know he has an impulsive character (both on court and off court)... as italian, i only hope his relationship with the Italian NT is not over...
