In the past, Partizan was considered by Red Star fan as a croatian club, now we consider it as a montenegrin club.

Partizan Celebrate Third Straight NLB Crown

Some of Serbia's international stars that are expected to play at this summer's EuroBasket were out in full force over the weekend and the contingent with Partizan Belgrade was able to celebrate a third straight Adriatic League title.

Partizan, after coming back from an early deficit to beat Red Star Belgrade in the Semi-Finals, turned on the style and thrashed Cibona Zagreb 63-49 in the championship game.

Serbia international Novica Velickovic scored 17 points to lead Partizan, who also have national team stars Uros Tripkovic and Milenko Tepic.

Dusko Vujosevic, the Partizan coach who is also the boss of Montenegro's national team, said: "I am very happy that we have, for the third time in succession, won the NLB trophy.

"We absolutely deserve it, not only with two victories in the Final Four, but the games during the entire season.

"We played each game at a high level. The huge effort put forth gives meaning to this trophy.

"Cibona is a very good team that reached the Top 16 of the Euroleague. It was a dangerous opponent."

Vujosevic stressed the importance of the Adriatic League, calling it "the league that gives the young players the opportunity to develop."

In Spain, meanwhile, another Serbian who looks to be solidifying his place in the squad is Luka Bogdanovic.

The DKV Joventut ace had 19 points to fire DKV past Pamesa Valencia, 86-77.
