IBN Eurobasket Prediction Game: The Rules
Submit your predictions to this thread before each game day begins. I will publish the results at the end of each game day (as well as cumulative results as the tournament progresses). In the first round of competition, each game day will be comprised of 12 games. Even if these take place over the course of two days, you will be asked to predict the outcome of all the games at one time.
Please enter the results in the following format:
LTU-SLO
If you think Lithuania will beat Slovenia by 12 points, enter in:
LTU-SLO 12
If you think Slovenia will beat Lithuania by 21 points, enter in:
LTU-SLO -21
The game's points are calculated as follows:
* if your prediction of the winning team is correct = 3 pts.
* if you predict the exact point difference of the final score you get 5 extra pts (3+5 = 8 pts)
* your point difference prediction is off by 1, you get 3 extra pts (3+3 = 6 pts)
* your point difference prediction is off by 2 = 2 extra (3+2 = 5 pts)
* your point difference is off by 3 = 1 extra (3+1 = 4 pts)
* your prediction of the winning team is incorrect = minus 2 pts
Please note that if you do not predict the winning team correctly, you are not eligible to receive any of the extra points. (e.g. LTU beats SLO by 2, you predicted -1, you do not get an extra point for being 3 away from the actual score because you did not predict that LTU would win the game).
If you do not have a country flag associated with your profile, please indicate which country you belong to and/or support. Country scores and standings will be tracked throughout the competition. Only the top three scores of each country will be counted in each game day.
